I have only just had mine done. I wish I had this. Everyone is different. How that guy managed to go back to work in a suit straight away I have no idea.
Although I had no ongoing pain, my end touching any fabric or my leg was extremely uncomfortable, these would have enabled me to return to normality much quicker and if I had known about this before I would have bought it. Not being able to wear trousers for 2 weeks was not fun.
You might be fine and not need them, but if you have a similar experience to me you will wish you had.
And FFS don't use vaseline, makes it stick to everything and is no help.
