Hey guys, I really feel i'm ready to talk to my mother about this and see if she can help out. I don't think my mother knows about this because I wasn't able to retract my foreskin till late teen years and my glans where still fused to my foreskin. So I doubt she could diagnose it when I was a baby. I'm on her insurance and i'm wondering if insurance would cover a surgery price, I live in United States, Illinois. It seems my frenelum is really tight, when ever full erect I do feel discomfort on my frenelum and a lot of tension if i were to masturbate. If I where to go to a doctor who would I want to talk to? Would I go to my GP first then get recommended to a urologist or go to a urologist first? What kind of questions should I ask? If I have to get surgery what kind should I do (preferably one with least amount of scaring and sensation reduction)

Your situation is called 'Frenulum breve'. You do not need circumcision for solving that. Your foreskin is not tight at all. I had similar in my twenties.
There is like two different options for cure by a doctor:
Frenuloplasty is to cut frenulum 2 to 3 parts and then suture them to shaft skin. (eg Z-plasty). Your frenulum is so thin. There is no need to this option.
Frenulectomy is cut it all off and put sutures or glue on to area.
I think we need to define it someway. I see tight frenulum as it is causing some discomfort or pain on intercourse. It can be short or long, but like tearing all the time. When a man just wank he can always avoid to stretch that area and get pleasure somewhere else. And I'm not talking about skin condition (disease). Bending the glans doesn't cause pain itself.
To me, short frenulum is not necessarily medical condition. We all are different down there. Someone has no elevated string at all and mucosal tissue/foreskin can be fused directly to glans near the uretra opening.
Hi Man, yes you do have a very tight frenulum 'frenulum breve' you should definitely have a chat with your mum you don't have to go into every detail but just that you need to see a doctor. I'm sure she will be very understanding and will want to help.
you should book an appointment with your GP first and they will refer you to a urologist. you should do some research in your local area for a good urologist. If it's just the frenulum that needs to be done it's not a big job a simple frenuloplasty or a frenulectomy would be fine and recovery quickly. the urologist will check everything out for you and advise you on the best way to resolve your issues. he will also check your pee hole if you have a problem there they will be able to help that as well.
First thing is to tell your mum and get the ball rolling and you can get on with your life then and having loads of fun😊
Hey, I think the frenulum doesn't really stretch that well it's like a fibrous tissue not like your normal skin. Anyway it's not a big job to have it sorted and it would be much more comfortable for him. and he would feel better about himself.
You can’t stretch a frenulum IMHO, it’s far too sensitive and painful to try.
I had this although yours looks worse. It ruined my sex life. Urologist fixed it with simple surgery, a local, couple of stitches and felt a bit bruised if pressed afterwards. A walk in the park. Once recovered glans no longer got pulled down and intercourse was far better.
My first advice is speak to your GP. You may find that conversation easier than talking to your mother. If you feel comfortable talking to her about it then feel free. I"m sure she'll recommend a visit to your GP anyway.
I know that talking to your GP about your penis may feel uncomfortable. I was the same at your age. It took me three visits to tell him about the real reason for seeing him. You're a late developer, so no need to rush. I'd try solving both issues simultaneously. The adhesion can be broken by firmly applying pressure to each side with thumbs, and then pulling the fused sections apart. It's going to take some time.

It depends on your insurance. Some require going to a G P then being referred to a Urologist. My insurance lets me go straight to a Urologist. I'm not sure what city in Illinois you are in but I'm happy to give you my Urologist's name if you want. He's really good. I've been seeing him for about 4 years. He did my vasectomy. Are you sure its a breve? Hey Man, best to see your doctor first man and ask his opinion I'm sure they will have seen it lots of times before. it's not a big job to have done but you want to have it done right. My frenulum broke and it does bleed quite a bit. Did you mention it to your Mum.
Looks normal to me. I would be more concerned about the adhesions between your foreskin and glans. What have you done since posting?
