Does anywhere in the UK do use a gomco clamp for a circumcision?

You will struggle to find anywhere in the UK, I searched myself.

The closest you can get is a mogen clamp, which is used by a few places.

It’s difficult to find urologists who perform adult circumcisions with gomco clamps in general. They don’t produce clamps for adults in the same numbers and they are higher risk for damage to the penis head so it’s not the preferred method. Some surgeons will perform them but charge an additional fee to special order them

“Risk” is relative. Accidents occur in only a small percentage of cases. But other methods have no risk of damaging the penis head (ex:ZSR), so gomco is higher in relation

As for why they would want gomco, it creates the classic straight brown ring scar that’s associated with american circumcisions for around a century

Yes, Gomco and Mogen are both clamp types. Some of us love the resultant witness scar, usually a darker ring. Impossible to find Gomco in UK. Mogen a lot easier.

The big difference is that a gomco produces a genuine circumcision (circular incision) around the entire penis while the mogen creates a v-shape scar on the underside (or in rare occasion, on the top of your penis, which ive seen some instances of that were probably accidentally performed incorrectly by a student etc). They’re both older but fairly reliable methods and responsible for hundreds of millions of circumcisions over the last century, through cheaper disposable plastic clamps are becoming more common in recent years

I was only researching yesterday how, exactly, a Mogen cut produces the familiar V clamp scar. Cant see how, quite, although the clamp is always supposed to be parallel to sulcus when tightened.

I’m not sure though I think I saw one performed online and it has to do with the angle of the clamp when the foreskin is severed. I don’t care for the look of a V scar so I haven’t researched it much bc I don’t want that

Forceps and freehand mixed seems to be the nearest we can get to custom in UK. They seem to be able to mix a high tight with a V scar.

Whichever I choose will be high or very high and tight. I cant and dont want disappointment in loss of inner skin sensitivity, and I like the 2 tone look.

Never normally a problem, one one I ever heard from with an adult cut, because they can see better what they're doing. Gomco bell guards the glans. Mobilisation of glans below Mogen clamp keeps them safe. Mogen used for religious circ in UK, babies and teen/adults. Nothing is sure fire.

Sure, but do you spend your life refusing to fly or drive etc based on a small ratio of incidents or do you try to take the least risk possible and go with a trusted airline and stick to safe routes? Depends on how badly you wanna get to where you’re going
