This is getting beyond a joke now... I had antibiotics for it and I finished the course which cleared this up and 2 days later it’s back... could I have a problem with my pubic hair follicules ??? It’s driving me crazy!

Yes get rid of that hair and you really need to let air round that it looks like sweat and moisture which causes 90 % of skin issues i would get the hair off then clean with dettol soap then apply coconut oil over the lot leave in air to absorb and give skin time to heal I've been here mate after circumcised skin flare up and always get worse under hair especially on head back of neck and if I get rid it goes if well aired also allergy to dog pup can also cause problems in skin use antihistamines for a week aswell doesn't affect anything else it's worth it so sad hard time good luck m8

Hey, Maybe just give it a trim and go back to the doctor. And maybe dermatologist would be a good idea.

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toMrMac99

Doctors don’t know fuck all clearly tho as this would of gone... trimming would make it worse ...?

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply toChris3108

Sometimes skin conditions need a longer course of antibiotics or even steroid tablets instead of creams. I wouldn't shave but maybe a tidy up would be ok I'm sure the hair could be aggravating it as well.

Trimming the hair won’t make it worse, though shaving could. Trimming will make it easier for the medicine cream to absorb into the skin. I’ve had eczema breakouts that look just like that, for me they happen around areas where I have hair. They give me a special green cream that calms it down almost immediately within a few days

shaving risky as i have cut myself many a times wax or use pubic hair remover cream

MrMac99 profile image
MrMac99 in reply tovespass180

Hey, shaving the hair off completely can be risky it can even irritate the skin but trimming the hair back is not as bad. I find if the hair gets too long it can irritate as well. Chris could have psoriasis it can be very hard to diagnose skin conditions he would need to consult with a dermatologist and with his past history a urologist the two consultants along with Chris's GP should consult with each other and go forward from there with a treatment plan.

Look try keep calm looks like cellulitis which is a serious condition but treatment is a good result antibiotics and antibacterial cleansers is key and are free from moisture looks weepy is that just started from antibiotics stopped

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toTedboyg

The weepiness is the cream I’ve applied to it

If it's a bacterial infection fusidic acid might help. Try and avoid the hydrocortisone version tho. It's not necessary unless specifically prescribed by a doc, whereas the plain fusidic acid is a good topical antibacterial cream.

Might be something to suggest to the doc? Also could ask them to do a bacterial swipe to be sent for culture to see anything grows in the lab, that way it can rule out one thing and go down another route?

Hey man I went and looked up the condition you keep mentioning. It’s actually called PeIN (not pin) which stands for Penile Intraepithelial Neuroplasia, and so far of all the photos I could find online, none look like your rash.

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toThorskinsHammer

Hey man so I should be okay?

ThorskinsHammer profile image
ThorskinsHammer in reply toChris3108

I can’t diagnose bc I’m not a dermatologist. You should still see your doctor. But it doesn’t seem to match any of what I’ve found about PeIN. You’ll need to give us better pics of whatever condition you’ve got to give you a more educated guess on what’s going on

I’ve just done an update mate on a new post take a look?

Take care what cream you put on there as some creams can feed a infection best to trim back as far as you can return to doctors see what they say again but keep the area nice and clean.

You recon mate ?

in reply toChris3108

Trim but do not shave. Shaving can cause its own problems. Back to your docs or you could try a sexual health clinic. There is not much they have not seen.

Do you think it’s something serious ?

in reply toChris3108

Sadly I am not a doctor so cannot diagnose. Their penis means a lot to most men and it always surprises me that they would want non-doctors to diagnose and prescribe for them!! You really are best off seeing the experts. Whether it is serious or not, you want it healed.

Hi mate have you seen any dermatologist who specialize in penile dermatology? I think there is difference between dermatology and penile dermatology. There is a few I found on the internet.

Check out my other question mate.

My mate got told he could get his issue in the groin, armpit or back

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toTheBoys

What have they said it is ?

TheBoys profile image
TheBoys in reply toChris3108

They reckon it is down to shingles..he likely had an infection. They are hard to pick up on and if untreated can lead to problems with rashes, painful boils etc for a few years

TheBoys profile image
TheBoys in reply toChris3108

From what i can see it can hang around for a long time. I m seeing him later i ll get details of the antibiotics he got

TheBoys profile image

I think this is something a mate of mine has been getting.

He's had "carbuncles" in his armpit and head for nearly two years....

Where are you based.

He's been on strong oral antibiotics plus creams.. it's like shingles....

Chris3108 profile image
Chris3108 in reply toTheBoys

Really ? I get boils under my armpit too?

TheBoys profile image
TheBoys

Ahh man.

My mates been suffering on off for nearly two years ffs.

I ll get details of meds from him.. but hes been treated for with antibiotics non stop till.another doc said it was linked to shingles..he even had a rash on back of the neck, head so struggled with haircuts.

Try, as an interim hot hot flannels and germolene.

Have any bled? You can get a thing called zeospirin on Ebay..its American and is great if a spot is oozy etc. Its a triple antiobiotic

I ll get some.meds details.

A lot of docs overlook a lot of things when you are younger and they drag on.
