Circumcision, day 14, sharing my experience (pictures)

Hello! This is my first post here, but I’ve been a member since a little bit before my surgery. I wanted to wait a little bit until I shared my journey, since I wanted to make sure everything was going well.

I’m sharing a bit of my backstory for anyone who has a similar one and is considering circumcision.

I had phimosis since I was a child. I remember my glans was painful to touch when showering so I decided I wasn’t going to do much about that, pull my skin back and such. When puberty hit I started exploring and found out that I cannot pull my skin back when erect, even though it was fine when flaccid. I started jerking off with my skin being over my glans all the time. At one point around 18 i decided I should try to resolve what I assumed by then was phimosis. I tried multiple stretching techniques and creams and such, without much luck.

*I want to make a point here: stretching and corticosteroids help only with very young children and even then the chances are it won’t work.

So anyways, 19 came around and I started studying medicine. That’s where I realized that anything but circumcision won’t work. With the information and the professionals around me constantly, I started to realize all the potential problems that could occur if I didn’t resolve my issue. Because I was constantly busy during my first 3 years of uni, I didn’t get around to doing the surgery, plus I was still building up the courage.

That’s when we come to August of last year, when I decided it was time. However, the doctor that I went to thought that I might not need a circumcision, so he decided on performing a frenulectomy. I will skip through that part, cause apparently it didn’t do much.

Fast forward to August this year when I decided to visit the doctor again (a different one this time). Because I was a student, I took some shortcuts and found a surgeon that I trusted.

*One quick point here, feel free to say no to anyone that you feel won’t do a good job, try to read up on the whole thing before doing any type of surgery. There’s a lot of horrifying botch stories.

Anyway, on the 12th of August I got circumcised. The surgery by itself is unpleasant but bearable, nothing to be scared about. I did it in local anesthesia and it went well, lasting about an hour. After it was done, I was bandaged and sent home with a list of medications I should buy (just antibiotics and anti-swelling meds). Tomorrow was the first check up, where they took the bandage off, cleaned up the wound and put a new gauze dressing on. From then on, I was told to clean the wound by myself at least once a day with an anti-septic spray and change the dressing regularly.

When it comes to personal care at home, I had some luck. My swelling was relatively prominent, so it was pushing my skin from the shaft of my penis up. That allowed me to have a skin flap over my glans at all times so I didn’t have much discomfort when it came to movement. Morning erections were unpleasant but not painful.

On day 12 I got my sutures removed at the urology clinic where I got operated on.

So we come to today, day 14, I finally managed to jerk off. The swelling is still present on one side, it’s interfering with masturbation a bit but it’s nothing dramatic. I’m trying to get my glans a bit used to the environment, so I rub it with vaseline slowly. I already noticed the sensitivity started going down. I was advised to not have intercourse for a full month after the surgery, so around 2 more weeks. I couldn’t manage not masturbating anymore, but I’m being careful.

I hope I helped someone with this story, and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask. I probably forgot to mention half of it.

That is a very useful understanding of your progress. Sounds like it’s gone very well.

You mention some skin was covering your glans, how much did your penis swell? I’m on day 7, it’s very swollen and heavy (see my post)

Hey! Mine looked exactly like yours, almost the same. The swelling will go down eventually but that takes the longest. The pain, the bleeding, the sutures and all the rest goes first, but swelling can stay for a bit longer. Mine is still a bit swollen on the incision line, but it went down eventually.

Good tip is that I switched my anti-swelling meds and the swelling started going down rapidly. I took Chymoral, you can ask at your local pharmacy, it’s sold without a prescription.

Hi there. That’s great that you’ve shared this. It sounds like it’s progressing well. I hope you enjoy being circumcised - I do!

Hey mate, I really do enjoy it. Erections are still not what they’re supposed to be but I’m getting there lol

in reply toprjancic

They will get there - you’re still very recently circumcised. Really glad you like it.

Very nice even cut circumcision. Did you get to keep the frenulum delta. I feel it’s a very important structure to keep. It would be great if you could post a picture of the underside of your penis.

I was planning on posting more pictures on different posts as my healing progresses, unfortunately it’s one picture per post.

My underside is still a bit swollen but I think it’s all intact and good looking.

It would be great to see the underside once it’s all healed up.

Hi, you're looking good it has healed very well. you could perhaps start using some Bio-Oil I found it very good how do you find your sensitivity after having phimosis it can be difficult getting the glans to desensitize? by the way it's a very good post with lots of information I'm sure it will help others maybe thinking off having it's done.

Hey, thanks for the kind words. I’m currently using vaseline to slowly introduce touching to the glans, but it is a bit more solid than I’d like. I think I might switch to some kind of oil or oil based lube.

I imagine he is very sensitive after being covered for so long sometimes you just have to bear it as much as you can and don't use any Vaseline or oils to let it dry out and desensitise it will decrease gradually

Hey, thanks for the response.

I do hope that adults get results from stretching, I’m just talking from my personal experience and what I’ve seen in medical practice. Of course everyone should start with that, however the hopes shouldn’t be high.

Very nice circumcision! Please keep us posted.
