Hi, you can try to do some stretching as nowhard as suggested. are you able to retract when you are flaccid? if not you probably have a severe case of phimosis you should go to your doctor and have it checked there can be underlying causes of phimosis, they may prescribe some steroid cream it can really help with stretching the skin. a short course of steroids cream would be beneficial after that it would be down to having a circumcision it's not as bad as some guys make it out to be. so don't worry try the stretching and maybe some steroid cream first and see how that goes. All the best.

It pains a lot to stretch little also as I was never able to pull back.. so I am thinking of circumcision.. thank nowhard appercitateyour help...

As I’ve said, try the stretching exercises mentioned. But if it comes to circumcision it’s really not always that bad. I had a second circumcision when I was 20 and I had no pain afterwards. None at all. I know everyone’s different but pain for a year seems like an exaggeration to me.

Try all the things the guys have said. If it does come down to circumcision then as MrMac says, it’s really not too bad! I hope you get it sorted.

Abiii, this is a condition that can vary between individuals. Some can retract while flaccid but cannot with an erection. Those cases are more easily rectified by stretching with good outcome. A good doctor will prescribe the appropriate topical steroid needed to assist this (thins the skin slightly) and help prevent damage or unnecessary discomfort whilst doing so.

In more severe incidences the glans cannot be seen at all at any time and so aren’t so easy to cure by stretching. Some will say it is possible to stretch sufficiently as long as you’re determined and happy to do so several times a day for a year or two years perhaps. Of course, it’s worth attempting to see what progress can be achieved in three months and if it works then fine. However, be aware that if the foreskin has never been retracted in 25 years then there’s a possibility the frenulum may be short which presents a second hurdle.

Alternatively a circumcision is by comparison a ‘quick fix’. If you’ve had a fair crack at stretching and it hasn’t resolved it or isn’t likely to anytime soon then this may be your last resort solution and no one should judge you for it.

Good luck.

No need to worry man, go to the doctor where you are living now I'm sure they will be good there. they will refer you to a urologist probably see what they have to say first.

Any degree of phimosis can be cured by stretching. The most severe can be helped with proper application of steroid creams in combination with stretching. In severe cases, flesh tunnels generally get the best results. phimocure.net is one source.

Isn’t it true that with phimosis, the frenulum will be more likely to be short because of lack of exercise of the frenulum?

in reply toAt1012

In my experience, frenulums don’t stretch that easily and not without discomfort and risk of injury. I didn’t have phimosis (well, after a couple of episodes when I was about 3 that is) and mine certainly had lots of exercise thereafter but was still to short.

What would have helped me enormously was if my short frenulum had been picked up or diagnosed in childhood as part of medical check. Docs just check if you can retract and that’s it so I assumed everything was normal down there.

Very interesting, when yours broke, did it grow back with scar tissue? I am trying to figure out, if what possibly broke was just scar tissue.

in reply toAt1012

It didn’t break, just got sore and had minor cuts and scarring.

Mine was tight and wouldn't stretch at all after years of trying. Circumcision took care of everything. Awesome sex too!

The frenulum, being part of the structure of the frenar band, will also respond to stretching. The key to success lies in the frequency of exercises.

At1012 profile image
At1012 in reply tojimfromcalif

What kinds of exercises? Also if they leave the frenular delta completely intact somehow, but remove all shaft skin, wouldn’t this cause severe scrotal webbing if a man tries to restore with a complete frenulum and complete inner foreskin? Curious to hear your opinion?

jimfromcalif profile image
jimfromcalif in reply toAt1012

It’s simply creating tension on the little web. Grip and pull. ahold five minutes. Repeat 3-4 times per day. EZ to do at urinal.

Circumcision itself can distort original form. Restoration cannot recreate the frenulum . i’m not aware of surgery to reconnect it. Restoration of inner foreskin is more difficult, but it can happen. Of all things, vacuum pumping is useful because it causes the mucosa to swell.

At1012 profile image
At1012 in reply tojimfromcalif

I have the web tissue, but it got pushed down during my infant circumcision, but the tissue is located mid shaft. Also my frenulum reconnected after with what appears to be scar tissue, but then the doctor who examined me, pulled on the head of my glans. I did not know he was going to do this. This then caused the scar tissue to come apart, but there was no blood. What’s frustrating is that I did not ask him to do that.

Mine circumcision was painless. Didn't need the meds I was prescribed.

Non retractable foreskin (phimosis) isn’t life threatening but does lead to a higher risk of developing penile cancer. This in itself isn’t life threatening as long as it is operated on early which usually involves amputation or partial amputation of the glans penis. In cancer terms this is a low risk variety but it would be irresponsible and completely dumb to just dismiss and ignore the risk.

Cancer of the penis is caused by HPV, preventible by the use of condoms.

in reply tojimfromcalif

63% of penile cancer cases in the UK are caused by HPV infection.

Penile cancer risk is around 4 times as high in people with HIV/AIDS compared with the general population. This may reflect higher rates of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in men with HIV.

jimfromcalif profile image
jimfromcalif in reply to

I’d say it’s higher. Handling the penis with dirty hands can also contribute. Smokers and mechanics need to be careful to wash away chemicals.

in reply tojimfromcalif

Well of course you as an individual would obviously know more about penile cancer and it’s causes than Cancer Research UK - the world’s largest charity dedicated to saving lives through research.

There is a 5th possibility: dorsal slit

Broadbandbill profile image

Go for a circumcision at a good clinic. You will love it

Circedandlovingit profile image
Circedandlovingit in reply toBroadbandbill

Had mine done almost five months, and love it more each day!

At1012 profile image
At1012

But couldn’t the dorsal slit work by itself? Also what about a ventral slit?

jimfromcalif profile image
jimfromcalif in reply toAt1012

I can’t imagine how a ventral slit might be done with the presence of the frenulum. Do you know of such?

At1012 profile image
At1012 in reply tojimfromcalif

We were talking about the OP

jimfromcalif profile image
jimfromcalif in reply toAt1012

Yes. How can it be done with the complexity of that area?

At1012 profile image
At1012 in reply tojimfromcalif

Actually forget a ventral slit. After doing more research, it is not a good idea. Also Bucky is right, a dorsal slit is very sloppy. A preputioplasty is a great idea as a partial circumcision technique when there are issues with the foreskin.

I could not pull back until my late twenties and it only became easier when I started having regular unprotected sex with my Wife to be.

First few times it could be painful but became easier.

But all this time sex was never a problem and I had three children so all is not bad.

In my fifties I was given a circumcision for Zoon's Balantitis.

Could this have been avoid if I was able to pull back sooner ? Possibly.

But I would still use Surgery as a last resort.

Good Luck

If you’re successful in intercourse as is, leaving it alone is your first option. Fixing it by employing skin expansion techniques is your second option. That choice brings the additional option of active or passive application of technique. Most guys choose active intervention whereby manual stretching is applied. Passive techniques use skin tunnels to apply gentle tension to the tight opening. Your best first step is to visit willywellbeing.com to get expert personalized advice.

The third choice is circumcision, a procedure leaving without your penis’ only moving part, without several thousand nerve endings which impart pleasure, and without the protective covering for the glans. Evidence of complications is revealed among the myriad inquiries to this forum, so it should be clear that one or both of the first two options will best serve you. I recommend choosing the self help option of fixing it yourself as millions of boys and men have done throughout history

It is rare that preputioplasty produces a good result.
