Hello, im a 32 y/o uncircumcised. Ive had this problem on and off for coming up on 2 years. (Mostly on). I have seen a urologist, and dermatologist about it. The dermatologist said it was eczema and prescribed a steroid cream, while it helps with redness it comes back almost immediately after usage. Ive tried fungal cream, no soap, anything I could find online. Basically underneath my foreskin gets red and irritated sort of like a rash. It looks more bacterial to me but both doctors didn’t think much of it but it wont go away. Could a bacterial infection last this long? Also the urethra opening often gets irritated. Its mostly like a red ring that goes around the head where its covered by foreskin. If anyone knows what this could be I would appreciate it.

Have you had a biopsy done on the affected area?
No, I have another dermatologist appt this week I will see if thats needed
Hi this is what I had a while back to the point it was hot to touch and itchy that I stopped car in a carpark to pour a bottle of water over my dick is it worse after masterbation or no change
Its somewhat irritated by masturbation, but if I dont masturbate its still there...
Did you figure out what was wrong with you and how did you heal it?
Maybe it’s lichen sclerosus. It would be confirmed with a biopsy. Steroid creams could fix the problem or unfortunately if it doesn’t get better maybe exposing the head and getting rid of the moist environment of the foreskin through circumcision will help.. hang in there and good luck
Do you think a dermatologist would be able to diagnose that or should I go to a urologist? The dermotoglist just told me it was eczema before
I got diagnosed with bxo with my dermatologist after she took a biopsy and she sent me to a urologist after steroid creams failed to help me... so basically you gotta confirm it’s bxo and then if you want to go with the surgery you will need to visit with a urologist
Thanks, ill ask for a biopsy when I go this week
I have the exact same condition. I've had it for over nine months. I'm 31 years old. I don't know where on earth it came from. I went 2 dermatologist, urologist, had a laparoscopy done, I got checked 3 times for STDs and sti's, all "negative". The doctors are stumped and they act like its ni big deal, but it really is I don't think any of them take it seriously. All my symptoms are exactly how you describe them to be. Ive tried so many different creams, ointments and homeopathic things oregano pills they help with some pain but ones you stop taking them the pain and redness comes right back. I will never stop looking for a cure. I can't imagine living my entire life with this condition it's god-awful I would not curse this on my worst enemy. I will stay in touch with you if I find out anything because I am doing some hardcore investigating.
Friction on skin is what I was told and fabric detergents but I did get rid of it just after a wank. I washed (not just wipe off) all the mess from it and then left to dry off itself and also same after a bit of bed action when the Mrs is up for that as 38 now not often lol but back 2u after that put sudocreme over head and left it done that for two weeks and now stick to washing then bit off vaseline over my bellend and frenulum bit I use the little one u can carry about for lips I haven't had any more flare ups apart from once went camping last year and had a morning wank and as was not possible to wash it so was flare up for few days but now make sure I keep on top as was hell that's the reason I asked if worse after having one as that's when it was unbearable good luck getting sorted try coconut oil as got great antibacterial benefits m8
Do you have any pain at all?
Sort of like a dull pain, somewhat how a rash would feel. Its not super painful or anything.
Have you found any answers or anything thst works?
are you diabetic, and could it be thrush
That coulld be BXO or recurring zoons balanitis , based on what you say and i see on the pic . Very hard to treat stuff .
What you need to do is stop applying all kinds of creams as in the long run they thin the skin . Get proper diagnose first stop applying anything there ,if it’s an yeast infection god speed apply coconut oil it’s better than any fungal cream , 2 times a day for 7 days , just rub it on there and leave it .
That could work. It might be zoons balanitis. Same exact symptoms I have
How are u now? Did you find answers? I am same age as you and similar
Symptoms, red glans and tip and sensitive and sore to touch for 6 weeks now, also had some testicle pain like I been kicked there.. but thankfully that is easing but pain on my knob is worse and so depressing. I’m on doxycycline 200 and a clotrimazol cream. Preying to god this gets better
I have the same thing. Have you found a solution?
Really would love to hear your solution.
I went back to the dermatologist recently because steroid creams weren't helping and was prescribed Tacrolimus ointment which really keeps it under control. Its not a steroid cream so you can use it alot in the beginning then use it less and less. Currently I am only using it 2-3 times a week and it has kept all the redness away.
Any update on this? I have exactly the same problem. Red rash/sensitive skin underneath penis head, and it gets worse when I’m erect/after masturbation. Also the meatus of my penis gets red and puffy after masturbation. Been dealing with this for the past year and have seen multiple dermatologists and a urologist who all have no clue. They just say at least it’s nothing serious and don’t really offer any help. I’ve tried a whole gamut of steroid creams, pimecrolimus (Elidel) cream, crisaborole (Eucrisa) ointment, antifungal, etc and nothing seems to work. I’ve had multiple full-spectrum STD tests and all came back negative. I even asked the urologist if he could do a biopsy but since my symptoms are really mostly present when I’m aroused or when there is blood flow, he said he couldn’t do a biopsy unless the skin was actively inflamed. If you have any more info to give as to how your condition has changed or if you’ve gotten the right treatment that would be greatly appreciated!
Same issue need help!
I’m haveing the same symptoms dermatologist said lichen sclerosis been on clobetasol 3weeks no inprovement yet how long were you on steroid cream for before you gave up on it
I started using clobetasol for a similar issue after nothing else was working / used for 2 weeks initially as prescribed and wasn't doing much, so kept on using for about a month every day, then every other day for around another month. Stopped using completely after that and it's improved alot, but still very slightly red and irritated. Booked into to see a dermatologist so will see what they think.
Definitely improved alot. I hope I didn't use the clobetasol for too long and maybe that's why it's still slightly red? But maybe it needed a longer course... The GP's are always a bit blase with it tbh.
I would consult your dermatologist about length of usage. For my situation she never wanted me to use consecutively for a long period of time. Good luck. Aidan
