Night sweats ? What's it about ?

Peanutbutterplease profile image

Ok so I've noticed just recently I have been waking up and my night wear is wet with sweat . I don't go to bed hot if anything I am always cold always have cold feet . It doesn't happen every night but it seems to be the colder I am the more I wake (in the night) like this .

I have got a heavy 13.5tog duvet my home is cold but I mean should I be worried ? I don't feel ill in any way or feel like I'm getting a cold or flu or anything I am nearly 40 so maybe my age ?

I dont want to worry myself just wanted so advise really .

might be the start of perimenopause.

I too can be cold and have cold feet with night sweats at bed time, so you're not alone. Sending you a big hug too x

We can get cold sweats, during peri menopause, so that might be a part of things too.

I had these night sweats first time at 34 I didn't think of perimenopause as I was too young, so I was scared it could be cancer or something serious. All tests came back normal and the night sweats went away after 3 months. They came back, more frequent and severe when I was 38 then again stopped after 3 months. Now I am a couple of months away from my 40'th birthday, I have hot flashes and some night sweats so it must be the perimenopause. But anyway it won't harm if you have a blood count just to be sure.

I get this and I’m just over 40, it started when I was 38, sweating during the day, damp clothes, waking up in the morning drenched down front and back, the only thing that helped me was HRT patches. It’s hormones for me that were causing this, do you have any gynaecology problems? x

I used to know when I was "due on (,week leading up or a few days )or 1st day of period because I would always get silly hot at night and this "hot flush" would happen again it has been consistent for a week ... all gyno stuff seems to be ok am regular etc . But always cold feet especially.
