I’m on the heart site on here after major heart attack just over 3 years ago. My gp just diagnosed vaginal atrophy after I complained of very slight vaginal pink loss post menopause. I’m 62. She prescribed an oestrogen 0.01% cream. I’ve no other symptoms at all and even though she knows about my heart attack and issues she’s said it’s safe to use this cream vaginally. Anyone else here have heart issues and using this type of cream? Is there anything none oestrogen that people think is good? Thank you.

You will need the oestrogen. It's safe and thousands of women in the UK use it for VA. There's a great Facebook group for women with VA for support and information
There are 2 types of oestrogen Estradiol and Estriol. Both when used vaginally are known to be safe as the dose is little targeting the vagina tissue. Doctor probably prescribed you Estriol, which is a weaker oestrogen with a gentler effect, often used in local treatments (e.g., vaginal creams, suppositories). It has a lower risk of systemic side effects but may be less effective than estradiol for severe atrophy.
The other type of oestrogen is Estradiol, HRT patches, gel, tables contain this form of oestrogen. Estradiol -based local treatments (vaginal creams, rings, or tablets) are generally more effective for moderate to severe vaginal atrophy.
Estriol may be preferred for mild symptoms or in women who want a gentler, localized treatment with minimal systemic absorption.
Ask to your doctors about your concerns and researching about for peace of mind . Best of luck.
