Is anyone else having issues with adult acne or rosea / perma red face on HRT meds? I'm on patches (everol) and have other issues, and this isnt to do with hot flushes, its just spots, perma bright red cheeks / face etc.
Thanks

I had really itchy skin where patches have been. This was quite significant and only just going. Systemic skin like sand paper also in hairline too. I have also had dizziness or ungrounded feeling too. I have used both Evorel Sequi and Evorel Conti Patches. I am now on Elleste Duet Conti Tablets nausea is a problem and now on 2 anti histamine tablets.
Anxiety was/ is still a issue.
Take care
Rare side effects of HRT????????
Hi BettyBrampton
Me!!
Have you got any better ? Had any advice ?I’d be grateful if you could share!
I felt at the beginning that having bad redness and spots is the last of my worries, compared to other symptoms but my acne is becoming so bad that I feel very self conscious about my face. I had acne as a teenager and in my 20’s including cystic acne which has come back too bit seems to be much worse.
I have asked the HRT nurses at GP surgery if any brands/ doses/ different methods of HRT are any better for reducing it ( as I know the Contraceptive pill has brands that are better for it) and in all honesty I don’t think they knew. The last nurse swapped from from Estrogel to Estrodot patches to see if that made any difference and it hasn’t. In fact after an initial month of slightly reduced spots / redness it’s now much worse! Both times I’ve asked for help I’ve been offered topical creams or tablets (antibiotics?) for the acne but I don’t want yet another medication/ harsh things on my very sensitive skin!
I am starting to wonder if coming off HRT completely might be the answer .
I actually went through an early menopause with no HRT at all ( long story but my awful GP didn’t believe me as I was ‘far too young’ to be experiencing peri menopause !) and only started HRT two years ago at 48 on recommendation from my Endocrinologist who was treating me for Hypothyroidism/ Hashimoto’s and said having Estrogen replacement might help my energy levels.
I’ve bought face washes with Saliyclic acid and serums with niacinamide to reduce redness, drink lots of water and eat a fairly balanced diet … any help at all gratefully appreciated!
