Hi Everyone, I am new to this.. need some help and support. I am 12 months post menopause ...I am freaking out for the past two years. I have been having severe stomach issues, pain, gas, painful bloating, heartburn... you name it :(.. I have had a coloscopy, endoscopy, and MRI with contrast on the stomach. Nothing was reported. I have had an ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound .. everything was reported normal considering my age. Has anyone else had these issues? Could these be related to hormones? No one talks about the issues with menopause or post-menopause.. only hot flashes and vaginal dryness. Doctors also seem to brush you off.. any advise if appreciated,

Hi, don't despair, you're not alone. I'm exactly the same. Excess wind, bloating, stomach cramps etc. It is hormonal. I've tried everything to ease it but it seems my body likes to do it's own thing. I do find that sugar tends to set it off so I stay away from biscuits, cake etc. there's all sorts of things that menopause throws at you. Aching joints is one of mi e, along with itchy ears and scalp. It's a nightmare.

Hi

Have you had your gall bladder checked. Sounds like gall bladder issues particularly pain heartburn and bloating - I’ve recently had my first gall bladder attack - not nice. Accompanied also by nausea and or vomiting.

I too had stomach ache, bloating and wind while going through the menopause. Sometimes I was in so much pain by the evening that I couldn’t stand up. I read somewhere that magnesium would help and started taking that. Whether it helped or the phase had passed I am not sure but my stomach issues did improve. I still get symptoms now and again and by accident I found that taking children’s gripe water helped get the trapped wind away. Pepto bismol used to really help too but it seems to have been discontinued in the UK.

Hi, I have the same problems. Just joined IBS group. I had all the tests same as you, but still have stomach pain, bloating, diarrhoea. All tests reports are ok. I think it is menopause. But my doctors just don’t think so.

I am going through the sane since Jan I have been bed bound. I had a CT scan and Endoscopy will be getting my results tomorrow. I have lost so much weight as I can't eat much. Unable to sleep due to the pain. It did start off as wind but has escalated to constant pain. Wish you all the best
