Hi all, i’m 38 finally confirmed that i’m peri, i’m also new to this group, I have just been prescribed Evorel Conti patches by my menopause specialist…taken me over a year for this referal to come through so i’m really relieved to finally be given some medication and hoping to start feeling more myself again soon.
Although i’ll soldier on regardless, i’m very anxious about any side effects that may arise when i first start them, I have a phobia of nausea and being sick so I really feel like i need to prepare myself before i start using. Although i know everyone reacts differenty to drugs i’d really appreciate if anyone can share with me how they felt when they first started using them. Many thanks 😁!!

you may notice a few symptoms like sore boobs or a bit bloated etc just as your body is adjusting to the hormones. Like puberty again 😂 but just give it 3 months to settle down. It’s done wonders for me
I have had experience of both the Evoril Conti Patches and the Evoril oestrogen only patch. I also have the mirina coil. I will just say that had I have known of the increased risk of breast cancer and combining the Conti Patch with the mirina coil I would not have had the patch. I have had the coil replaced, and my gynaecologist told me that there is no reason for the two to be combined. He prescribed me the oestrogen only Evoril Patches, and about 3 months later I had a routine mammogram which showed a large mass in my breast.
Please be aware of this very real risk. I didn’t have any reactions or symptoms from the patches. I believed that they were of great benefit at the time. With hindsight, I would have opted for the oestrogen only patches. Best wishes x
