Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with early menopause years when I was c.45 & took hrt until I got an under active thyroid, c4 years ago.. I’ve noticed some vaginal atrophy, which bothers me, although I’m currently single, I hope I won’t always be. Is this just something I have to accept?

The journey of self acceptance is many layered.. be kind to yourselves, ladies 💗

no you don’t have to accept it, there is HRT available that can be localised to your vagina I would seek help from your GP or a menopause specialist.

I had early menopause. It is a struggle for sure. You are still young for where you are - HRT is essential. Find what works for you. Our chemistries vary. So we have to figure out what combination works for us. My friend and I talk about this all the time. Progesterone causes her breast pain, and her breasts get larger on it. Opposite for me, progesterone helos me sleep better, doesn't affect my breasts at all. Estrogen helps the lining, but in me it causes excess candida. I am taking 1/2 esrra test half strengtha day. Seems to give me a little balance, but far from perfect. When I was in my 20's a doctor gave me testosterone to plump up the vaginal tissue. I am not sure it worked as great as he said.

Be kind to yourself as well.

If the atrophy gets really bad there's a procedure you can do ( I think it involves lasers which encourage collagen production in the area). I think it's called Mona Lisa - my friend had it done and cannot believe the difference. She had it done in Marmaris in Turkey by a highly trained specialist for a fraction of the price, but I think you do have to have a few sessions so local might be better! In case the other suggestions don't work.
