Hello, so in the newest NHS vaccine schedule all babies receive the meningitis B vaccine. However, they have postponed the men c vaccine to 1 year now. I've read about a girl getting meningitis c before her first birthday though, so she would have been protected had the vaccines still been given at 12 weeks as they used to be.
Now my question: you seem to be able to get the meningitis B vaccine privately everywhere, but not the meningitis c vaccine, if I decided to get my 8 week old vaccinated privately! There's only the acwy vaccine available privately. From what I've read that is safe to give to babies, too, but there seems little information/experience around about this! For example when could it be given in between the NHS scheduled vaccines? And I don't really like that the private providers very likely don't have experience in giving it to babies...
Has anybody else tried to get the men c vaccine privately for their babies and how and when did they get it?
Thank you!
