Mental effects of VM

Hi guys,

I had VM in December 2017, spent 2 weeks in hospital and about 10 weeks off work recovering. Physically I'm doing ok - mentally its had quite an impact, finding it VERY hard to focus, just feels like my mind is in a fog, and keep getting loads of racing thoughts and feel generally more stressed. Never used to feel like this before VM. Probably should just go back to the GP but just wondered if anyone else experienced these symptoms post VM and if anyone had any tips?

Tim.

Hi Tim

I had BM in February 2018

One month health care and one month at home recovering and April back to work . What a big mistake . I suffered in silence and today back in hospital with high BP & fast heart rate and some mental issues.

My advise today

Listen to your body. Accept that you have changed. Tell your Hr and then your Gp. You have to open up ..very important

Your Gp will take if from there

Good luck and know u r not alone!!!

I had vm 13 months ago, hospitalised 6 days. In the first weeks and months after I had symptoms of ptsd, severe illness is a traumatic event.

I continue to suffer concentration issues memory loss, problems with finding words, blank moments/fog , disequilibrium, headaches, extreme chronic fatigue and post exertional malaise, anxiety, anger.

Do go back to your doctor, it may be that you are pushing your recovery too hard and need to go more gently or risk a major setback or developing fullblown ME. I have crashed out at work on more than one occasion from not respecting my body's limits.

Take care
