I had my first MDD episode 10 years ago and a bicycle accident triggered this one. I feel so stuck, numb, emotional and guilty at the same time. I know it gets better cause it did for a while but this is SO hard. I do all the things and enjoy none of them. The worst part is the thoughts at night. I just want to sleep and rest.

Hi Desertg,

Thank you for your post.

You have recognised your symptoms as depression so that's good. Can you remember what worked for you 10 years back?

If you took medication then you might like to start with that at the same dose that worked.

I book an extra long appointment with my doctor to discuss mental health for the first time in a current episode. You probably know what to say and ask for e.g referral to a therapist and starting medication.

In the meantime, look for some self care ideas like meditation, gentle exercise, reading etc.

I can recommend a book called "The Mindful Way Through Depression " which has Mark Williams as the lead author.

Hoping you can back on your bike real soon 🙏 🐈‍⬛
