Persistent migraine frustration
I got my first migraine when I was 12 years old. I got them fairly regularly with aura, painful, and nausea. They gave me fioricet or caforgot (sp) but I was so small back then that it just made me sleepy. Once I got over the nausea part of the headache, I would just "deal with" the pain for the few

Tests, test and more bloody tests!
After years of managing the dreaded lupus/APS migraines really well with Maxalt, I have started to suffer with cluster headache (which nothing seems to touch!) so obviously considering my medical history, the fact I have previously has a stroke, clots and am on warfarin, they want to do an MRI tomorrow

Hi All , I have been reading through posts with interest as a regular sufferer of migraine or years .I use Maxalt for attacks with good result but probably take too many . Have tried all sorts of preventatives , the only one that worked miraculously well was Pregabalin (Lyrica ) which is an anti epileptic

Louder tinnitus with headache?
Mine seems to ramp up - even before I've taken medication (paracetamol, neurofen or a special migraine 'cure' named
Maxalt
Melt
- which really works). After 16 years I'm pretty accepting of my head noise but it does seem to be louder if there is pain in my head as well.

Meningoencephalitis Survivor
Hey everyone, I had Meningoencephalitis back in 2011, and have had a headache (usually a 5/10) everyday since (yup, 7 years worth). About once every two months i'll have a 'blow' out and have to go to hospital for stronger meds to bring the pain level back to 'my normal'. I have tried Sandomigran, Endep

Unauthorised procedure question
Hi folks, I'm having a bit of a dilemma at the moment and decided to see what others feel about this. I'm in the UK if that helps. The short of it is: If you went into hospital for planned surgery and awoke to find that an additional procedure had been carried out without your authorisation, would

In the process of diagnosis.
First off, I would like to say that I am not diagnosed with MS but highly likely. I am 36, happily married, with 2 wonderful kids. My cousin has MS diagnosed in 2005. I had no idea she had any problems until I was rushed to the ER for "stroke like" symptoms. I called my mother and told her I was

Menstrual Migraines getting worse
I am currently being treated for daily tension headaches, as well as menstrual cycle related migraines. The current treatment for the tension headaches is working well. Physical therapy 2xs per week, as well as 2xs/day home exercises, and a mild muscle relaxer to help the physical therapy be more effective

Maxalt when to take
I take Maxalt which is rizatriptan. The instructions are very clear that the drug should not be taken until the headache starts. However if I wait until then the drug is ineffective. I find that, contrary to the manufacturer's guidance notes, if I take the drug the moment the aura starts then not only

Colostomy problems - parastomal hernia?
Don't know why I never asked advice from you lovely ladies before. I am sure someone out there has an answer or can give me some advice. I have a permanent colostomy following debulking surgery in November 2012. Never knew I was going to have one so it was a bit of a shock. I must admit I have never

Maxalt melt - how much to take??
I am just starting to take
maxalt
melt
. It gives approx. 8 hrs relief from migraine symptoms, so to get through the full 24 hrs I would need 3 doses. The leaflet in the pack and NHS advice says take no more than 2 doses in a 24 hr period - so 8 hrs a day without pain relief.
