Whoo Hoo! UpTheStanley has been given the all clear and discharged by the consultant 3 weeks after his cataract operation. He wasnโt allowed to run but did sneak in a 5k at my pace on Sunday just before his appointment. Letโs face it, running at my pace is not strenuous to him and hardly raises his heart rate.
We woke up to beautiful blue skies and sunshine this morning so I headed off to do an 8k , while he went to our new parkrun start to run a virtual parkrun. The wind was gusting 30mph SE and I decided to run into it on a NRC 8k guided run with Coach Bennett . Those first 2km were tough, and it felt the equivalent of running up a hill, so good practice for the start of the Monsal Trail 10k.
I was really pleased with this run as I only walked when I decided to have a nibble of energy bar in the 5th km by the Hayling Island Ferry. When I returned to the promenade it was just so much easier with the wind on my back.
Practically perfect negative splits. Have a nice week everyone.
