Two Sleeps To Go! HU Virtual Run This Weekend!!📣📣📣

For those not doubling up with a race this weekend, this is just a reminder that our warm up virtual HU 5k 10k or 10 mile run is happening on Sunday as part of the build up to our main Spring HU event in 9 weeks time. Please join us for one run or both! The warm up on Sunday will be just that; you choose your distance; my run will be really steady 10k, and it will probably need to happen on Monday!

If you would like to join the main event, please just let us know what distance you are aiming for in April by responding to Linda’s e.mail and we will do the rest, including providing you with a race number/bib.

I find that thinking of others running at around the same time is encouraging; we would love to hear all about how it has gone!

So, over to you; whatever distance you choose for Sunday, just enjoy it !

Thanks BC, my plans are a bit up in the air since I signed up for 10k. After 2 weeks, I am still sneezing and blowing my nose so I haven’t got very far in training. I may do a RunWalkLocal 5k on Sunday if the weather is kind, or it may be a 10k or 5k later in the week. Things got more complicated as UTS got a short notice slot for a cataract op , and I will be playing a support role.

So I will let let you know what I’m doing after the event. Have fun everyone.

When I had a local anaesthetic op on my hand the surgeon turned out to be a full Colonel; his assistant was a young woman. The conversation between them went like this; “are you a real Colonel?” “Yes” , (pause…) “I would like to be in the army, in fact I would like to be sniper!” The female anaesthetist chimed in “ number one, you couldn’t stay quiet for 5 seconds, and number two, you would need to go for a wee after 5 minutes!”

Diverted my attention from what was happening to my hand anyway!

No I am required to be chauffeur, and need to watch him like a hawk for 24 hours. No running or gym for 3 weeks either.

Enjoy your runs everyone. I’ll be doing mine on the London Winter Run along with some VRBs but I’ll think of everyone out there doing what we love best 🥰
