Hi everyone,
As you may know, today’s Great South Run didn’t go ahead due to the poor weather.
However, I was lucky enough to have a friend from running club who was willing to run 10 miles with me, at my pace. Given the poor weather conditions I decided to ‘Jeff’ the whole thing, based on my heart rate. My idea was to slow to a walk every time my heart rate reached ‘anaerobic’ level, then restart running when it got back down to a more normal level. This strategy worked very well and I completed the run without any problems, even when the rain was lashing down and the wind got stronger.
I’m very pleased to have completed a virtual GSR, even if the real thing didn’t go ahead!
