I think this took everyone by surprise!

I saw that the early release tickets were snapped up almost instantly and got ours booked whilst on my break at work! Let’s hope the stars align and we all make it to the start line next year!🤞

I got up in the middle of the night (in Canada with an 8 hour time difference), and booked my place while I was up 😍😍😍. I'm glad I fell for the marketing hype and didn't leave it later. I believe there are still charity places available if anyone did miss out.

Yes I’m in! I had completed all my details for the first release and then I couldn’t get beyond this to checkout. But I got in on the second release straight away.

Did you book parking Cheeky? It showed as sold out all day yesterday. I wasn't sure if that meant they hadn't opened it up, or whether it really did book out that fast

No, not yet Linda. I’m not too panicky about that as I was able to get a space using JustPark at the 11th hour this year. But I will book at the stadium if it does open up. It might be too early - or yes sold out already!

I got a early bird offer for next year's Great Scottish Run, £10 off the later normal price, but here's the catch, £10 MORE than the early price offer for this year's Scottish Run which as you all know I ran last Sunday.

I think that’s from this year Linda . The park and walk didn’t open for booking until August this year…

Thanks Sandra, that's good to know 😊 I don't know the area and imagine there will be closed roads in place too, so it would be good to go with their recommended parking. I'll keep checking.

There are quite a lot of NCP car parks that can be booked too - my sister came in her car and booked one of these quite close to the day. We did the Park and Walk (just over a mile to the event village) which was well organised. They also emailed when the booking for the Park and Walk opened.🙂👍

I clearly ignored that P&W email then Sandraj39 , as I missed out on that and all the NCP spaces! JustPark to the rescue, and cheap too at £13 for the day, plus a small booking fee.

Wow, well done everyone. What a meet up that will be. The Great South Run didn’t sell out until 2 or 3 weeks ago. Hopefully you all got early bird prices too.

I got the 2nd release price Dexy5 as I wasn’t feeling the urgency as there wasn’t one last year! Next year (unless it turns into a ballot - boo) I’ll be hovering over my keyboard waiting for the word go!

Despite what it says in the rules, I’ve seen people offering up places on the GSR on Facebook . OK unless something goes wrong I guess. Not sure I’d want someone else’s time against my name either.

Dexy5 I know that in the Severn Bridge T&Cs - obviously a much much smaller race - they stipulate that anyone found to be running under someone else’s number will be banned from entering any race for a certain length of time. Not sure about the person who resold their ticket though. Probably similar.

Pretty sure I’ve read this in Great Run rules somewhere - about being banned from future events for running under someone else’s name…🤔

No I didn't because I was working when early bird came out and so by the time I got on (evening) it had gone to £53 so I decided no, too much for a half. Apparently Welsh athletics release a few later in the year so I'll keep an eye for them. Lots of our run club decided not too at the high price too. They suggested Merthyr half or Newport half (which I loved last year!) Maybe I'll just come to wave my pom poms in person instead 😃
