Hi Catho, yes I’ve run it before (as have several others on here), and we’ve also signed up for next year too!
10am would be the start of the race itself. There will be multiple waves, so for me, being a slower runner, I’d be running around 30-45 minutes later than that. You’ll be assigned a wave beforehand as I’m pretty sure it asked for your predicted time when you entered.
It’s wise to get there well before race time however. You shouldn’t need to register as you should receive your race number in the post a week or two beforehand - but the queues for the loos need to be taken into account, plus there will be a warmup and I’m sure you’ll want to work out the lay of the land.
it’s hard to know what time it’s safe to catch your train. All I can say is build in extra time just in case.
Many thanks for the reply and advice, I think we’re going to drive to London instead to be on the safe side. Getting excited, it’s great to know what to expect, much appreciated 🤗
Hello Catho78, I ran it in 2022, when it was held in May each year, but it is now September I believe. It was a brilliant route, on empty streets , but with support along the route. I loved it, especially running up The Mall towards Buckingham Palace.
Your instructions should advise when to be there but I’d allow at least an hour before race time. Loo queues, baggage drop, stretching etc. I’ll try and find my post run report.
Yes, I have done it!☺️It’s a fab race - you will love it! I think that return time sounds okay but once you know what Wave you are in, it will be easier to be sure. Good luck!🙂
I’m doing this again this year after enjoying it last year 🙂
I think you will have got your wave time by now (orange at 10:56 I assume?) and they do recommend getting there by 9:30 although you can probably get away with arriving a bit later.
Last year was a bit shambolic apparently as loads of people didn’t get thier pack/bibs so make sure you have all that as getting it sorted on the day is a bit of a nightmare!
