You know what day it is and you know what to do. We need your pompoms and cheers for our amazing runners over the coming week, as we head towards the mid-year point with a few solstice celebration runs involved π
βοΈ Leading the charge this week is Β Β 00marks who will be running the Sandringham HM for the third year! A royal residence and a route that consists of roads and trails around the beautiful Norfolk countryside, this promises to be an interesting and varied course.
Last year it was so hot that the marshals produced super-soakers π₯΅ I donβt think youβll need them this year 00marks!
βοΈ Coming up next is Β Β aliboo70 who, along with Kenny, will be running the 10K option at the Southampton Running Festival. The route is described as βperfect for a PB featuring woodland, grassland, ponds, wetlands, lakes and parkland in the well used green open space in the centre of the city.β Sounds as if all surfaces are covered there Ali!
βοΈ EDIT: ADDITION: Β drl212 will be running his very first race, I believe, on Sunday. The Finsbury Park 5K which will take runners around the roads and paths of this famous London park. Such a fabulous location and apparently the medals are worth bragging about too!
Good luck drl, enjoy it all and weβd love to read all about it afterwards when you cross that finish line!
βοΈ On Wednesday evening I have the Chippenham Longest Day 10K. This is a closed road event starting in Chippenham centre and heading out along country roads and trails back to the town centre for the finish. A samba band has been promised for the start and during the race so that should be a great incentive to get the legs moving quickly!
βοΈ And finally, just squeezing in to the end of this week, we have the Solstice Sunrise Run whichwill see our Dynamic Duo Β Β TailChaser and Β Β Katnap turn up for a 3am start race on the 21st! Yes, you read it right! 3 am!!! Is there any point going to bed the night before guys?
This 6 mile run starts at Barbury Castle in Wiltshire and will see the sun rise at 4.43. The run will be handicapped in waves so everyone should finish around the same time. How cool is that?
Bon Courage IP and fellow racers. That's quite an ask, wanting me to be up at 3am to vigorously shake pom poms and cheer and shout ... but I'll see what I can do!!! Have a blast everyone π₯°
Oh what a lovely smorgasbord of races this weekend! And to run past a Henge - how wonderful Β TailChaser and Β Katnap ! (Anyone remember the Eddie Izzard sketch?)
Good luck to all you intrepid runners, and Β Irishprincess go and grab that bling niggle free! β€οΈπ₯
Thanks for the pompoms Irishprincess ! I've not been feeling great the last few days with stomach problems π€ but hoping it'll ease off in time, otherwise I'll be watching Kenny!! Xxx
Hope you're are feeling better now and all ready for Wednesday eve xxx
What a line up this week, I'll wave pom poms, might have to wave them the night before for the early start, although....would love to greet the sun on the beach on the solstice....have fun in your races and sending strong legs to you all π
Yes, and now being on the east coast I'd get to see it first, but may have to wait until autumn when the sun rises at a more sensible time. I drove back from Sussex yesterday and was most surprised it was getting light at 4am
That is a really good turn out. I hope that TC and Katnap have the rest of the day off!!
Enjoy your runs 00marks , aliboo70 , plus Kenny, TailChaser and Katnap and of course, one of my partners in crime Irishprincess and come back happy and injury free.π
I like to be last minute...so last night I entered the Charing 10k, taking place this evening at 7pm. Just heading off for a carb loaded lunch to get me up the hill in the middle to the Pilgrim's Way πnice-work.org.uk/e/ashford-...
Pom poms will be waving for you all. I like the sound of nearly all of them, but sorry, not a 3am start for a running event for me! Oh the very thought. I hope that you all have good time in all the ways that you would like. πππ»ββοΈπββοΈπββοΈππ»π
Go go gooooooo! Pompoms abound here on Teesside. Wishing everyone all the best over the weekend and week ahead. Be proud of ALL of your achievements π πβ
Good luck to you all. π₯³ πThereβs a whole lot of variety there and Iβm sure youβll all have built some lovely memories by the end of it. 3am though! I donβt think so π
I have been rather remiss this year with my Pom Pom races but nevertheless Iβll be out racing on Tuesday evening at the Worthing Track night and would appreciate any spare Pom Pom waving thatβs going. I set my PB here last year and Iβm hoping for another quick time this year.
Sorry bit late but hope I can wave today for all of you and for those fabulous runs throughout next week! Can't wait to hear about the Solstice run 3am start πβοΈ I hope it's a magnificent sunrise π
