Great North Run

[Macrun]

Hi there anyone doing the Great North Run this September I entered the ballot and got a place. Just wondering was there a group to discuss or chat about it and the experience of the day. Thanks.

I'm doing it mate and I have run the GNR twice before. It's absolutely epic. I think it's the biggest half in Europe. An absolutely unbelievable day with incredible crowds. There's nothing like it mate 😊

Yeah looks like some experience alright. I just entered it on a whim never expecting to get a spot. So I flights and hotel booked so will start the serious training for it 12 weeks out from the day.

Definitely add your name to our September events post (which should be available from mid August). Not only will that guarantee you a virtual posse of pompom waving supporters, but you will also most likely see others from here who are running it too, real runners on the start line. It sounds like an awesome event! Happy training 😊

I have a place too. It was on my bucket list so I am chuffed. I’m looking forward to it. I checked on Strava and there are a variety of groups but none that look official. I haven’t looked but there may be other groups out there.
