Fridayβs here again and the heat is on! π₯ Whether youβre hiding from a heatwave or searching for sunshine, itβs time to fire up the inimitable HU pompoms to wish your VRBs fun and success for their events! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Our red-hot runners and racers are:
π½π TailChaser and Katnap , heading off on Sunday 13th August to the Solihull HM: runsolihull.com/event/solih... Organised in support of Acorns Childrenβs Hospice, the race starts and finishes in Solihull town centre, and follows an undulating route on roads and tarmac paths. Weβre told that the fearless felines will also be taking part in a Fordy Runs meet-up afterwards.
π½π Folkylass , whoβll be taking part in the Jon Ward Virtual Hereford 5K - herefordcouriers.com/club-r... at a date of her choosing between 13th and 20th August. All profits from the race will be given to charity in memory of the eponymous former Hereford Couriers running club member.
Have a fabulous time, and donβt forget to send us your run reports!
Any more VRBs taking part in a racing event this weekend and would like a pompom cheer? If so, let us know asap by replying to this post, and weβll get your name on the list!
Many thanks Cmoi for the Pom Poms and lovely mention. At the moment Iβm starting to just get over an ongoing problem . Lower back pain. I havenβt had a flare up for a long time. However Thursday morning on taking washing out of the machine and transferring it into basket I suddenly jerked my back and bingo the pain was back. So yesterday I did some Pilates for lower back pain
taking painkillers , lots of tiger balmπ ( smelly stuff!) and resting although I have managed to walk a little. Its improving so all good and Iβm hoping to get out for my virtual charity run tomorrow or if not one day next week. π³π«ππββοΈππ₯°
Thanks Hedgehogs123. Iβm feeling much better today thanks. Pilates this morning and walk this afternoon so all good. Looking to get out for my virtual5k run on Wednesday or maybe Tuesday weather permitting ππππ₯°
Good luck. Have you ever looked at the acupressure mats? I got a cheap one on Amazon and although it takes a couple of times to get used to it, my back felt a bit better. It's just like lying on a bed of sharp pins, only luckily they're shorter and plastic!!
Hi Hedgehogs123, only just read your post. Iβve never heard of acupressure mats. I think I may have to investigate π€π€thanks for thatππ₯°π₯°
Just start off with a cheap one and see how you get on with it. As I said , mine was about 12 quid from Amazon and whenever my back is a bit stiff (I have arthritis in my lumber spine) it does seem to help
Iβm always a bit late with my cheerleading, but Iβm enthusiastically waving my Pom Poms (virtual of course, who actually owns some of those?!!!). Wishing you speedy and comfortable runs - I suppose we should also keep an eye on fordys you tube channel for a potential cameo (or star appearances).
