Yesterday I ran the Westonbirt 10k. I have begun marathon training and 10k has featured a few times lately so I thought I'd do my best to keep my speed up on this one. It was a perfect day - bit of sun, lots of breeze, cloud cover -cool! Course was flattish too with just one hill and good paths or mown grass. I set off way too fast then reigned it in, then got excited at seeing so many different trees and shrubs in the old arboretum so had to have a chat with myself to pick up the pace again! It was a beautiful course and had it been hot it would have had plenty of shade. I was hoping for less than an hour but that seems to be my time - exactly 60 minutes this one! This race company Relish running are renowned for great feed stations and they did not disappoint! Impressive huge wooden medal too with photos of the trees on. I had a walk around after. Tree heaven for a Forest School teacher π A lovely morning out.

sounds wonderful, running in beautiful trees , lovely photos.
Congratulations!!! It sounds like a fantastic event for you. Great to know the feed stations are good-thatβs so important to me too π
Love the photos and so glad you had a good time. Good luck with the marathon training β€οΈ
Oh well done, thatβs a great time on a sticky day! It was very windy though.
Iβm a regular runner there so I know what you mean about the trees being distracting π Spring and autumn runs are notoriously slow!
Good luck with your marathon training and maybe Iβll see you in the arboretum one day π
Iβve always wanted to run that race CLR, but thereβs always something in the way. One day I will, it sounds great. π Really well done on your race. πππππ
I sense a VRB meet-up there soonβ¦β¦
Lovely pictures and an excellent run for you πππ Best wishes for your Marathon training too π

That sounds so lovely. One of my favourite places!
Hi CLR, my first organised race was with Relish racing,
Agreed well organised, it wasnt until I run other races I didnt realise that you didnt get lots of treats or fruit.
Sounds like a good run, in a lovely location.
Well done sounds a lovely scenic run and great pictutes!. What was the feed station like, I'm just intrigued,,!!π
On the route was just water and electrolytes and some sweets I think. But at the end was all sorts of chocolate bars, sweets and a delicious can of electrolyte sparkling flavoured water.... I didn't save name as it had sweeteners in so I wouldn't buy it but it was nice. Oh and ice pops. π
Congratulations on a successful 10k race. I had a look at the Loch Ness marathon route. If I was ever going to attempt one (which I'm not), this would be my choice too! Good luck with your training.
That looks great ,congratulations! πbeautiful photos xxx
Ooh, that sounds lovely! Great time too π
What a wonderful place to run a 10k race Cowladyrunning . I think a wooden medal is very apt for a woodland run. Good time too.
