Yesterday I ran 10k for the amazing RNLI charity in Lymington, which tied in very nicely with our HU run. I listened to the Spotify soundtrack for most of the time - some great tracks, thank you to those that put it together. This was a beautiful coastal run mostly on gravel (ouch, I prefer tarmac to run on 🤣) and I was honoured to see an egret flying really low and close as I ran along the sea path section. Loving reading the posts from all the VRBs who’ve taken part so far 😃😃😃

A really good cause for which to run Mudita. Sounds like a lovely venue. The bird life is very apparent up in the forest at present from tiny gold crests to enormous buzzards. I always think that the latter circle over me towards the end of a long run, hoping for an easy meal! 🏃🏻♂️🦅
Thanks BC. Sounds fab where you live. I do love birds but I’m better at hearing them than seeing them these days 🤣. Luckily the egret was pretty close! Watch out for those hungry buzzards 🤣
We go to the Isles of Scilly every year; there is always a chance of seeing something exotic. I think that a Hoopoe was the biggest surprise bird wise, and a Walrus (Wally) sunbathing on a pontoon in the harbour was the biggest shock! He had been all over the place…France,Spain, Ireland, Isle of Man, but decided that Scilly had the best sushi restaurants I think. He was an adolescent, which explains everything really …but eventually the call of some femme fatale back oop north lured him back to the arctic. I love a happy ending 🙂.
Brilliant 🤣🤣! Wally stopped around here for one night too en route to the Isles of Scilly. He needed a rest. I would absolutely love to see a hoopoe. You’ve seen some amazing sights BC x

Such a good reason to run, egrets are beautiful and special to see, congratulations on your run

Sounds like a delightful run Mudita. How wonderful to be graced by an egret too. 🥰 Really well done!

What a lovely place to run Mudita, and for a great cause too. Well done 👏 😊.

Just fabulous and with the company of an egret too... huge well done to you!

You must have an impressive bling collection now Mudita! Well done on completing your HU 10ks in a real race and in such a lovely location. Not sure about the gravel, that’s worse than grass!
Thanks Dexy, I think gravel is my new least preferred running terrain 🤣 but luckily the scenery and wildlife more than made up for it! I forgot to add a pic of the medal so here it is. I’ve got a few now and am thinking of getting one of those medal hangers as I don’t know what to do with them (think I have 12) x

That's a great charity to choose. I loved the playlist too. How lovely to see the egret fly by - it sounds a perfect 10k.
That sounds like a fabulous run Mutida, despite the gravel. And how wonderful to have such a close encounter with the egret! And such a fantastic cause to run for. My Dad's name is on the new all-weather lifeboat based at Wells-next-the-Sea. We were lucky enough to see her down in Poole where she was built and find his name up close

A coastal run and such a worthy cause, sounds perfect. Well done to you 👍
