Last night I took part in a run organised by Sussex Trail Events, they organise some fun runs with a difference, including a ‘Beat the Tide’, ‘Southend Pier Marathon’, ‘Prison Marathon’ and last night was the ‘Darklink 10k’
We started in Shoreham at 6pm ready to run, with head torches, we ran up the Downslink (a route running on old railway lines and paths between the North and South Downs) Near Bramber we did a small loop, before heading back down the path back to Shoreham.
It was a fairly flat gravelly route, with various puddles and muddy bits to negotiate, but generally a good fast race.
Thankfully the rain held off and although a bit chilly, the conditions were idea. I felt good for the whole run, and managed a little sprint at the end.
Strava recorded it as my 2nd best 10k at 1:01:00 (maybe in less muddy conditions and in daylight I could knock that minute off) 🤔🤞
A great part to the run was the medal, which glows in the dark!
