I haven’t had a holiday in a long time, and I’m annoyed with my ankle preventing me from racing, so I bought new shoes to inspire me for when I’m better, and a short break in a fancy hotel in Seville, for my mental health. 😎
The weather will be nicer too! 😀🌞

Hmm reminds me of a certain film with your name in it where someone says "You lucky, lucky ..." 🤣.
Nice shoes as well, are they Vapers? I have a pair and got PB's in them last year. But my ankles were getting quite sore towards the end of the 10 mile run. So be aware of that with your ankle. They are not too rigid.
My 5k PB came in a pair of vaporflys. And yes, they were largely responsible for a posterior tibialis injury that followed. I switched to Adidas adizero pro 2s and they were surprisingly better on my ankles despite the reviews that suggested they were unstable. Anyway, all my distance shoes are now back in their boxes, as I never run more than 400 metres at any one time now. These new shoes are Nike Streakflys, which have a much lower stack and drop, than my other shoes, and are primarily designed as racing shoes for 5 and 10k runners, but actually suit my needs perfectly as training flats for track drills and warmup, prior to donning spikes.
Must... resist... looking... at... shoe... recommendations... (yeah, they look good, maybe in the summer..).
Edit. Actually no to my above comment. I could hardly walk after my last two runs at the end of 22. I wore fast trainers both Alphas and Vapors for the last quarter of the year. I got them because of reading too much into things, but haven't worn them this year and stuck to stability based shoes instead as I have not yet recovered from my injuries and now want to concentrate on the longevity of being able to run and not caring about how fast I can do it. I found running into my mid 50's and I do not want to be in a situation where I am forced to stop because I am trying to beat some stupid PB from a run before.
Do you spend a lot of time watching Kofuzi, Fordy and Believe in the Run YouTube shoe reviews Brian? I do, they’re addictive! I’m this 🙌 close to getting a pair of Saucony Pro 3s, and it’s all their fault!
I never watched those particular ones. My go to was Eddbud a he’s also a muso and has a decent sense of humour and he’s not sponsored. He uses his own earth credits as he calls them. He is largely responsible however for me buying a lot of “extra/just in case”, pairs of shoes 😂
What a fantastic idea Brian. Those shoes are fabulous and the colour of Seville oranges, so a natural place go! 🍊 Hopefully your ankle appreciates what you’re doing for it. 😀
It has been a while since you bought a new pair of shoes Brian, so I totally understand 😂😅 And as for escaping our weather, why wouldn’t you?!! I’d join you if I could!!! Enjoy ☀️😎
Ohhh how lovely! We know how you like new shoes .... and Seville won't be half bad either. Have a wonderful time and here's hoping that ankle heals fast 😊🤞
