Where to post? 🤔

No run for two and a half weeks due to a virus which had a variety of symptoms - 🤧🤒 cough, sore throat etc etc. But today was the day! blue sky, warm sunshine and no wind - a beautiful day for a short (7k) slow plod down my usual route. Busy with walkers, dogs of all shapes and sizes, bikes, children, buggies but only two other runners (like me, with dogs). I have a lot on my mind at the moment, things have been and still are a bit difficult. Running is great for stopping that continuous swirl of thoughts and worries that are plaguing me at the moment. Focusing on placing my feet, not falling over, watching Squiggy and watching out for other people and dogs certainly keeps my mind busy! I also was very aware of the warm sun, blue sky and beautiful bird song.

So glad I made the effort……perhaps I should run every day 🤔

A strange title because I couldn’t decide which forum to put this post. I don’t really fit into any of the categories. Not doing Couch to 5k, already completed 10k but feel the Marathon and Race forum is not right either because I am currently not entering events or planning another HM 🤔 I am in the category ‘Still plodding on….’!! 😂

So glad you’re feeling well enough for to run again.

You would be welcome on any forum here, my friend... and this sounds a tad like me, neither fish nor fowl!

You and Squiggy had a lovely outing and lovely photos too...and well done on that run. 7K is a good one... I made my first 5K since before Covid, on Sunday!

We are lucky though, aren't we, how the runs take us away from the stresses, strains and everyday jumble of life, although I have earned my lesson on how not to overuse it as an escape. I certainly use some of the time too, to rationalise and prioritise.

Good to see you out there and hoe you are feeling better x

yes, I agree, best not to overdo things! I like the idea of a little run every day but my body probably won’t like it ! I did have a little jog this morning because I was late for a hair appointment 🤣

You are always welcome here 🥰 That run sounds far too good to be classed as 'plodding on' though; more, a reminder to us all just how rewarding a mindful run can be if we let it. I hope your difficulties are soon a thing of the past but in the meantime, may you find a little peace in every run 😊

I omitted to put the time - it was definitely plodding 😂

Glad to hear that you're back running skysue16 , and I hope your troubles pass soon.

As for where to post, you definitely don't have to be entering events or preparing for specific distances in order to contribute to this forum, as the About blurb indicates.

The day that ethos changes, I'm out.

Absolutely! If that applied , at certain times, over the last months, even years, I wouldnt be anywhere on any forum! For me, it's simple...We're runners..we run. x

Wow! Sunshine! Looks great!

As others have written, you fit in fine on here. For that matter, I ended up here straight after C25K and seem to fit in, even when all I could manage was a gentle 2k walk.

I love reading what everyone is doing so I’m so glad you came here!

That sounds like such a great run in all respects and just what you needed. This running lark is quite something, it’s no wonder we can’t stop!

Ah! That’s my category too skysue16 - “Still plodding on!” 👍🏃‍♀️🤣

I’m never quite sure where to post either at the moment but I think many of us hop between the forums to read posts. Sounds like a wonderful run - well done! 🙂

I remember going through a tough phase, and when I ran, I’d imagine all my worries physically coming out of me and disappearing into thin air as I went 😊. Running is very mindful isn’t it, and yours sounds lovely, just being in the moment with the warm sun and the sound of birds, plus Squiggy of course. Your photos are lovely.

An interesting visualisation 😊 Yes, I find running and walking up mountains very cathartic.

Personally, I mostly tend to post in Bridge to 10K, mainly because most of the runs are 10km or shorter, and because there are more people there, but I don't want to clutter up the C25K forum.

But it's totally up to you to post where you feel most comfortable.

Thanks for your reply- yes, probably the Bridge forum would be most suitable for me since 10k is about my maximum at the moment.
