Cut off time managed ⌚🤣

Thanks for the advice I got previously, when I was concerned that the cut off time for Run in the Dark was my usual time. Of course, as you predicted, the speed of others around me picked up my pace, subconsciously. And although I did tell myself to start slow and steady, I was also still worried by the cut off time, as there was an option to stop after the 1st 5k loop and I thought they might not let me carry on if I was too slow, so I gave in to the picked up speed. Despite no long run since September (life!), I completed it. Mr Garmin didn't agree and only gave me 9.81k- I didn't cut any corners, honest 🤣

Congratulations! 🏃‍♀️💪🥳

That must have been one seriously satisfying run! When I did my half marathon recently, my Fitbit lost its gps signal and estimated the distance-according to that I did nearly an extra kilometre! You’ve got to love tech going rogue…

Fabulous! Congratulations 👏 So frustrating when Garmin doesn't record properly isn't it, but you know you did it all (and I bet your legs did too).

I find that at my local parkrun which has lots of 90° turns and plenty of tree cover, most GPS devices under read the distance by as much as 750m on some days. Oddly, some newer GPS watches over read the distance.

This never happens at the parkrun that takes place on a beach as it's a simple out-and-back with a totally unobstructed view of the sky.

Sounds like a great run, silly Garmin can't always count

Congratulations, sounds like a great run. I've been caught put with garmin a couple of times now I start my watch as my pen starts picking up pace before the start line so if there is a slight adjustment I have a bit extra on the watch.
