Hi everyone, I put this on my Facebook page earlier, and it seemed appropriate to post it here too..
It’s 4 years ago today that I graduated Couch to 5K, much to the amazement of many friends and colleagues. Since then I’ve run many thousands of kilometres, including 6 half marathons, the 10 mile Great South Run and loads of 10Ks, 5Ks, Parkruns and training runs of many distances and types (who, other than a runner, knows that Fartlek is actually a word?🤣)
Aside from the obvious physical benefits of muscular and skeletal strength, improved breathing and lung capacity for example, I never realised it would improve my mental strength, focus, resilience and determination.
None of this would have been possible without the friendship, encouragement and advice of my many running friends (some of whom I’ve met face to face but many I’ve only ever met through various running apps and forums).
Thank you all for your continued support - I wouldn’t be where I am without you and I’m immensely proud to be part of the running community!

Congratulations on your 4th running anniversary, you have indeed ran thousands of km in those four years, now go and celebrate your wonderful achievement 🏃🏾 👍
Happy runniversary David! 🥳 You’ve done amazing things the last 4 years. I bet you didn’t think you’d get 6 half marathons under your belt when you started out?!
Thinking about Fartleks, probably runners and Swedes but especially Swedes that run!!
Well done its like a new lease of life the running. I'm about 4 years myself since I started C25K with the health unlocked program. Since then I've ran 3 times a week joined a running club met new people. Best thing I ever done. Keep running David_G.
Happy Runniversary! My Runniversary feels more important than my birthday (and most of us are years younger counting our Runniversaries! 🤣🤣), so very happy celebrations! 4 years… oh my! Awesome!
Well done to you David_G from another 2018 graduate. What a lot of running! May you continue to enjoy running and the many benefits that it gives. 😊🏃🏻♂️
