Just a little run out on my 1st runniversary with a few pbs😁

Hi all

Well today was the day of my very first official race. Sunderland City Half Marathon.

This race landed on my first runniversary and Father’s Day. Exactly one year ago today I walked w1 run1 of couch 25k.

Fast forward one year took part in this event which was curtailed by Covid-19 with a small field

Finished in a pb by 25 mins in 2hrs49 mins and thankfully wasn’t last😂

Looking at my stats I have managed pb s in every distance below hm

I am one very happy very sore bunny.

It was his event company running it. He was picking up the rubbish! We also had local gal Aly Dixon running the 10k 😁

It wasn’t scary exciting. However it was full of competitive club runners who were scary fast😂

Ooh, strange I know but I had kind of forgotten about the competitive runners! Still, most unlikely that they have taken 25 minutes off of their pbs_ or ever will! You must be so proud-hope you aren't too sore today.

I gave finally bitten the bullet and signed up for the Badminton half marathon-its not until September so plenty of time to prepare !

It felt like 2 races the proper runners and the funsters. I have a photo of me snd my friend crossing the finish line and it looks as though we are the only runners😂😂😂good luck with Badminton

Sounds like you had a really fun time!Badminton is o trails etc not roads so it will be very different from my first HM .Main aim again will be to complete it without walking-no time limit for the event 😀

Woohoo well done Smile! What an amazing way to celebrate your runniversary, and how lucky you had a real event to run. Great time too - the same as my PB actually! 👊

I’ve yet to run a real HM race as they’ve all been deferred. I’ve run the distance solo 5 times and I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed that my event goes ahead in September.

I hope you’re still grinning today. 😀
