So after getting a 10K PB (1.09) on Monday, and a couple of weeks of constant 12Ks I thought I'd set out this morning for a 10Mile Run, been a month since my last and I'm aiming for a half marathon again before the end of April π€
It still amazes me how runs can feel so very different.. some so much faster, some tough, some slow..
Today's was slow, but I was happy plodding along reminding myself it wasn't always about a PB .. just wanted the distance π
Weird weather, cold as I set out with woolly hat and gloves, sun came out wished I had less layer's,pocketed the hat and gloves.. then got cold and wet,and windy was glad of the layers again π
Just as I was on the road home I passed a woman roughly my age (55) jogging in full makeup π!
I'm thinking ..how does she manage that, I'm sweating like a pig, face like beetroot, cloth in hand mopping the sweat and tears π
Anyway great to have gotten that run in.. feeling achieved πββοΈπ
Happy Running all π

Good run for you today Caroline, well done, that time and pace is pretty good, as you say runs can feel different, good luck for your Half Marathon later this month.
In preparation for the London Vitality Virtual 10,000 in early May, this morning I ran my 22nd 10K in 74 minutes, last Wednesday I ran my 21st 10K in 76 minutes, so I am getting a little faster with each run, enjoy and relax for the rest of the day π πβ
Thank you Beetlesforever π€It was , my legs feel a little more tired than normal, but that's fine, I've nowhere to be till 3pm , got my feet up with my book π
Love it!! You're right, you never quite know until your in the run. It's about distance rather than time really and you did that today. 10m is my favourite distance and it's a significant way. All banked and a good stepping stone on to your upcoming HM πππ
Good run! Most of my long runs have been around 10 to 11k recently but I really want to get back up to 10 miles again soon - I was really enjoying the 10 mile plus runs at the end of 2021.I really need to follow your example!
Running in makeup !? On a good day I brush my hair briefly-but that is really only because I have to tie it up to keep my Openruns in place so that I can listen to my podcasts whilst running π π§ Makekeup ?π-not going to happen my beetroot face doesn't look good lipstick .
Thanks, I'm sure if you just up a k once a week you'll be at ten Miles again in no time πI'm the same brush hair, bit of moisturizer and off I go π
Don't those runs vary!!! Sometimes for no apparent reason. But we keep getting out there and that way we never miss the great ones π Well done!I'm with you on the makeup front - would end up a complete mess π
A super run Soarky! Well done you π. I always wear lipstick, have to admit, but I couldnβt imagine the whole shebang. It would be a melty mess! Hope you have your feet up after the run (and haircut). πππ
I've had a lovely restful afternoon, reading.. haircut is in aid of my Neice's 18th Birthday party a week on Saturday, yet another trip to Glasgow π
Well done π. A slow ten miles sounds heavenlyππββοΈ Three seasons in one day though by the sound of it. It goes with the territory though π.
I mop my face and blow my nose a lot so I think would play havoc with makeup. I put moisturiser lip stuff on and moisturise I think Iβd look like a panda πΌ if I went in for massacre π
Iβve got some psoriasis patches on my face so I put a thicker cream on those and try not to rub them while Iβm running. I invariably do of course π. My son bought me some really thick skiing protective cream so I hope thatβll be more robust π
Also Iβm hoping sun glasses - or even clear cycling specs - will stop me wiping and rubbing my eyes π
Fair play to the woman in full makeup! I'm always impressed by ladies who finish runs and still have immaculate hair, I often wish I could be like that, but it's never going to be me.
