Got more bling and a PB - 1hr 16 mins which knocked 5 minutes off my previous best. With a bit of training I am now certain I could do 70 minutes and eventually 60.
It was another great occasion with lots of entertainment on the sidelines and the steel bands, acapella singers and well wishers cheering us on, I pushed myself quite hard. Loved the sprint at the end to the roars of the crowd. I could only stagger over the line at the Hackney Half due to cramp. This time I let rip for the last 200 metres.
Cramp threatened in my right calf from about 8K but didn’t materialise. I used the massage gun on my legs and calves extensively last night and this morning so perhaps that made the difference. For my Hackney Half training I’m going to do a lot more stretching and yoga than I did last year.
Happy runner today!

Thank you! Was really a great event. These things are addictive. Wish I’d started doing this 40 years ago when my body was still in good nick. Having said that, when I was young I never wanted to run distances. Preferred playing footy.
I know what you mean! For me it was always about getting muscly and the gym! Running was just for weird people 🤣. But I’m so glad I found it 😊. And look what you’ve achieved - I bet you have a huge grin on your face all day.
Well done on your run Dodgylungs - great photo, fabulous bling and a PB to boot! I have yet to do the London Winter run - the one time I entered, it was cancelled due to high winds. Maybe next year…🙂
