Just squeezed in a cheeky 10 miler before going to West Ham today. The Hackney Half is only five weeks away and since I over indulged on the steak and chips front in France (went to Lyon to watch my beloved Hammers), it was important to get this one in. My mental strength is notably stronger than the last time I trained for this event. I’m going to do my first outdoor distance run this coming week, a 13K around Regents Park on Thursday or Friday. I think I’m probably fitter than last year, though judging by my weight, I wouldn’t put money on it. I just feel running long distances is less taxing mentally and physically. I did feel like giving up several times today but I wasn’t really in serious danger of doing so. Now for another West Ham win…

Another 10 miler done
.... you're only one step away from saying to yourself 'I'm tired, but I just know I'm going to finish this'. Well done!!!
I always know I’ll finish on the treadmill. I have a feeling this strength will now translate to outdoors too. I think a 13K is a good distance to start with. Then it jumps to 20K the following week. But the break to France gave my knees and calf a chance to rest. No threat of cramp today either, so I’ll just keep stretching and then I reckon it’ll be done!
Didn’t West Ham do well in Lyon! It sounds as though everything is coming together really well running wise too 😊. Well done on a great 10 miler 😁.
Great stuff! Ten miles in the bag 💪👍💥
Glad you enjoyed the footy ⚽️ I think we’re in action again tomorrow but apparently we’re not going but are watching it in the pub.
Have a good run in Regents Park 🙂🏃♂️
I’ve gained weight while not running but have started losing it at last 🙂.
Torquay is the opposition 😀⚽️
