I have just completed my first ever half Marathon last Sunday 31 October ( Leicester) my aim was not to stop which i managed in the most appalling weather conditions. it pelted with rain for the first 7 miles ! The furthest I had ran up until then was 8 miles. It wasn't quick ( 2:50.00) but I did it. Despite the awful weather the crowds came out and the Marshals were amazing. its a good one to try, fairly flat and goes through the city. The last mile or so is a long incline which seems to go on and on but its at the end so it makes up for it!

Than you and I am wasn’t sure I could do it but did really enjoy it
Congratulations especially going from 8 to 13 miles in dreadful weather that's really impressive. I hope you are still enjoying your achievement and recovering well 🙂
Well done! I have my first one in Feb and am already nervous. In fact I have my first ever race this Sunday - a 10km 😬 at Knebworth with my daughters. Really looking forward to it though.
Ahh good luck with your 10K you will smash it . As regards your half the key for me was slow longer training runs combined with hill training for the strength bit. 🏅👏👍
Thank you first run tomorrow and that will be park run had a bit of rest and feel fine to go again 😊 the rain was ok once we got started and planning another one in April next year with my friends Boston in Lincolnshire I have been told it’s flat !
Well done Dory! I know that, when running in the rain, we don’t usually get cold but I’d still rather run in sunshine! Still, it’s more of an achievement to have pushed on through the conditions and you mastered that hill at the end too!
