Well, all week I’ve been saying to myself today was to be 18k in my build back up to a HM distance hopefully for our virtual run next month. Ha! Not to be. When I got up the weather was HORRENDOUS. I’m sure it was the same for a lot of folk here! So I was already sort of talking myself out of that distance. But I needed to do 10.1k to get to 100k for October, so I thought well if I manage that, it will be something.
Off I went, thankfully it had stopped raining. Tbh my legs were complaining after some deadlifts the other day, so I decided 18k wasn’t on the cards, I’d just pootle along and see where I ended up. Then my mum rang - Daisy the dog has been poorly. I saw her yesterday pretty much to say goodbye, so I assumed she was no longer this morning. But hurrah she has rallied! However I was being summonsed by my dad to go and talk about family stuff. Right, I’ll just run round to see you then. I say just, they live up a hill 🤣.
2 cups of coffee and some digestive biscuit later, I decided to run home to make up the rest of that 10k distance. So technically I’ve run twice in one day! I’ve never actually run to get anywhere, it’s worth it if there are biscuits at your destination.
A younger Daisy is in the photo, plus a huge tree minus a large branch I encountered on my cool down walk.
Have a smashing day everyone! And Pom poms are out for everyone doing a race today. 😊😊😊
