Hi everyone
I posted a couple of weeks ago about, what I called at the time, my epic fail to run 14k along unfamiliar terrain on a very hot day. I was feeling very sorry for myself and panicking about messing up my training plan.
Thank you so much for each of your replies which helped put me back on track.
I completed my 10k trail run on the Sunday. It was difficult, as it was a trail run which I'm not used to, but I did it and was so happy. Following advice on here, I collected my medal 😃, then came home to rest and rehydrate for a couple of hours. I then went out and did another 4k. So I did it, 14k in one day....😄
My next long run was a very slow 16k the following week and I can't believe that I managed to go that far. I've bought some tailwind so had that and some water during my run, and a couple of dried apricots. I'm still just trying different hydration and nutrition methods but I think it went ok.
So, all is looking fine, although I am a bit worried about my upcoming 18k. After that, I'm dropping back for a week before my the main event, The Royal Parks Half on 10 October 2021.
I really appreciate the help and support on here at my low point. Thanks again everyone 😁
