Looking for virtual run buddy who's up for a 10 Mile run in the morning?
A week or so ago Stocksy67 was planning one and it gave me great encouragement on my run, when the going got tough I thought of him struggling also ...so mentally spurred him on, which in turn helped me keep going!!
Would be great to compare our run afterwards?
Go on..you know you want to πββοΈππββοΈππββοΈππ

Really AlMorr? What time do you head out at usually?
I'm planning around 7am π
I've just seen your last 10Mile run post and we run at similar pace although you beat me by around 4 -5 minutes.. that would give me something to aspire to ππ
Early, 7.30, this is to avoid the warmer temperatures of later in the morning, I notice that the temperature where I live in Central Scotland is to be around 13C/55F at about 7.30 in the morning which is a nice temperature to run. ππΎ
I will set my metromone app at 160 cadence, which is the minimum I use, on my (not) parkruns it's usually set at 170/175 cadence and on some of my 10K runs, for example my recent Virtual Vitality London 10,000 I set it at 165 cadence /beats/ steps a minute, good luck for your ππΎrun π
Update sparky66, I have just come back from my 3rd 10 miles run, I began at exactly 7.30am and completed in a time of of 2.04.27, however, that time is due to quite a fast first 10Ks, my average pace up to 10K was 07.30 min/km, the fastest being 07.18 min/km, but I started to slow down especially after the 12th kilometer, the last kilometer was way down to 08.52 min/km, from now on I won't be running any more than 10Ks, any thoughts of running a half marathon was "put to bed" no more runs beyond 10K from now on. I hope you enjoyed your 10 miles run this morning.
OMG well done Alan πππI can't believe how close we were I ran mine at 2.04.44!!!
That for me was a massive 7 minutes faster than my previous 10 Mile PB π₯
I Ran the opposite slower first half and faster second.. was great thinking of you running along side me..I always visualised you a bit further ahead of me..but we must have ran past each other many times π
Thanks for that.. hopefully you feeling okay.. you done amazing!!
I hope I can still run like you ten years on πππππin fact I will be 55 a week today..so you being 20 years older than me.. that's just amazing πβ€οΈ
I am feeling fine thanks, well done on that PB, IF I do want to run a half marathon then I will have to change my tactics on running, in all of the runs that I have run, the first two or three min/km have been the fastest, nevertheless I enjoyed my third 10 miles run this morning, the time was 2.04.27, about the same time as my first two ten mile runs, however, I think from now on 10K will be my longest run., enjoy the rest of your day.
Ah Sparky Iβd love to join you but what with work (it really gets in the way π) and still recovering from the HM, Iβm not sure when the next long one will be π’. Next time for sure! Have fun, Iβm sure youβll have plenty of takers!!! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
I wish! I can't run at the moment - and certainly not that far. So please, could I ask you to take me on your 10 mile run tomorrow? If the going gets tough, just think how much I would LOVE to be taking those next steps, running those remaining miles. Run it for everyone who can't. I'll be cheering you on.
Awe Linda, I sure will be thinking of you and wishing you well.. you'll get back to it when the time is right πThis forum really keeps me inspired on the tough run's..in fact most runs..I think of our members running journey's..all amazing!!!
I will - one day maybe I'll get to actually run the 10 miles at the same time as you!!! But for now, do it for me and let us know all the best bits when you get back (you can be writing the report in your head as you run) π
That would be great.. maybe we should get a running buddies group going on.. could maybe put a post up for people to add there long run day/time and people could pair up ?
I do my long runs at the weekend. A 10 miler would take me a bit under two hours, plus connecting walks. I can't fit that into a normal working day.
My next planned long run is 10km. I might do a 10 mile one near the end of the month. I've got to work back up to it again after several weeks of hot weather and followed by a short illness.
The remainder of this week is: intervals run tomorrow, 2 miles Thursday, rest Friday, parkrun Saturday, 10km Sunday, rest Monday.
I couldnβt quite manage 10miles this morning. I did 9.63 miles and brought you with me on my slow 2 hour run. Cheering you on for your 10miles and AlMorr β€οΈπββοΈππ»ββοΈ
Iβm in Western Australia so itβs lunchtime for me and Winter. I only run at 5am in the Summer. I always enjoy my long runs when Iβm keeping it steady. Enjoy your 10milesπ
