Upping endurance πŸ’ͺ

So usually I run a day... Strength and flex the next and so on.. have a rest day Sunday..

I'm up to 12K now on my longest run aiming for a half marathon maybe July πŸ™

Today was my workout non run day.. so I do half hour speed walk on the treadmill with weighted gloves and interval punch out on the last ten mins..then move onto my weights, sit ups... flex..

But today during my workout I was daydreaming of running πŸ˜‚

So finished up..changed into my running shoes and went out for a wee 5K.. got near my personal best aswell πŸ‘

So I'm thinking of encorporating this into my weekly routine once a week..

Thinking it can only be good for my endurance when the miles start clocking up ..

Felt really good to get a double day.. I will look forward to seeing if it's as good next week πŸ˜‚

Happy Running all πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Play it by ear, if it feels good, it's good πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜

Good effort, I like your dedication to upper body strength whilst doing your speed walking. See how your body responds with this increase in runs. I’d run alternate days since starting c25k not liking the 2 day break and it was only when moving up to 10miles I went back to 2 day breaks. Happy running πŸ€—

Yes think two rest day's would definitely be needed moving upwards of the ten mile marker πŸ˜…

Thank you. 10 miles is nice but it does take me 2 hrs so quite a decision to commit to it at the start of a run. Good luck in getting there, if I can do it anyone can, fuel, water a good route and goπŸ€—

Impressed by your strength training as someone who's just exploring ideas at present!! Well done, sounds a good plan.

A gym instructor told me years ago to do weights first then run. I had been doing it the other way around. It makes a more effective workout apparently, so you’re bang on Speedy60 ! πŸ’ͺ

Sounds a great plan, and it's all going well πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ you'll be doing 10miles/16km before you know it, blimey, i'm struggling to get 10k's done, life sort of taking over really, not been posting on here, but still trying to get 2 runs a week done, but swimming twice a week too, so all good!! πŸ˜€
