Meet Stanley, our brand new Romanian rescue dog. He's a 9 month old long legged terrier mix. Super friendly. πŸ’• Maybe I've found a new running buddy. πŸ₯°

We've just taken him for his first walk. He walks beautifully on the lead. I can't believe he's a stray, he must have had a home once. We've really lucked out. 😊

Thank you. I'm not planning on starting anytime soon, he needs to settle first and get used to us and all the sights and smells of England (and learn English!). Does your dog run with you?

Your doggy is bilingual? 🀣

Cmoi profile image
CmoiMarathonβ€’ in reply tonowster

Yes, nowster , that's to say he understands both French and English, though doesn't always do what he's told in either language! πŸΆπŸ™‰

Got him from a French family when he was about 13/14 months old. My husband and I are both British (though my application for French nationality went in months ago) so generally speak English at home. Hence the mix! Though we actually spoke both languages to our previous dog as well.

Uh oh...you? Or the others πŸ˜†Oh well, practice makes perfect...as long as he doesn't run at the back of your legs when he's scared like my Mum's dog does, good luck πŸ˜πŸ‘

It was only his first proper walk. I think the more we go out, the better he will be. He wasn't barking or anything, just a bit nervous. It made me smile though 😊

Bless him, to be fair some of us do look a bit iffy in lycra πŸ˜†

Enjoy him x

Someone else on here has a dog called Stanley. Is it RunaroundSue ? UpTheStanley is glad to see everyone naming their dogs after his footie team.

Hmm, football. Is that that game where a load of people chase a ball around a field? I prefer my running to go somewhere. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‚
