Flossie is 9 years old today. We’ve just come back from her birthday walk in the sunshine. ☀️ What an amazing morning.
Some of my VRBs have met her, and she too is missing our meetups - hopefully later this year? 🤞🤞
If I had to guess what percentage of runs she’s done with me in the last 2.75 years since starting C25K, it must be between 85-90%, the exceptions being races and the odd few Parkruns that don’t allow dogs. She’s been by my side for all the rest - or off snuffling somewhere, soon to return. ❤️
Yesterday, on my 10 miler, she shadowed me most of the way! My running pace is her easy trot, so she’s very happy and it’s no big deal for her to be moving for so long. She’ll accompany me on my 2 upcoming HMs as well. I know who’ll be more tired at the end! 😅
Here’s to many more years of fun. 😀 Happy birthday little friend. ❤️🐕🐾

Happy birthday lovely Flossie from Stanley and me. Such a lovely running companion to have, and so well behaved. 🏃♀️🐕. Barkrun will be glad to see her again.
Happy birthday Flossie from Molly and me. Molly will be 9 on 25th June, so not a lot between them. Fabulous day for a birthday. We have just got back from our beach walk. Loads of dogs to play with and lots of people to make a fuss of her. Feels like spring......but it isn't of course! Have a great day Flossie 🍖
Happy birthday Flossie! What a sweetheart she is. This is my dream for Otis that he will run with me in peace. We are still working on the peace part :). It sounds like you have a lovely day ahead with springlike weather! Enjoy it and many, many more to come!
I hope so. Flossie sounds the perfect run buddy. There are glimmers of improvement with Otis each week. And we ran half our short walk this morn at a reasonable pace so that was good.
All the green in the UK pics is making me miss Spring, but the sun is out and it’s Friday - close enough! 🙂
If we still had Sam, I'm sure he'd be accompanying me on a few trips out. I used to regularly do 5+ mile hikes with him doing at least double that distance. Unfortunately my normal (outside lockdown) work circumstances would be unfair to a dog, with me being in the office most of the day.
Photo of him damp (as usual) but unusually not muddy, from 2004.
Aww thanks for the lovely compliments Week7! I’m lucky as she’s a little Lab at only 21.5kg, and she’s not foody like our others had been. She eats more like our cat - comes and goes to her bowl for a nibble every so often!
I’m hoping running with her is helping keep her healthy too. ❤️
My Running pack, one of them is now retired he's 16 and one of them is under training. The other two are now 11 and run with me regularly. A run is more fun with the hounds.🐶
Oh wow Otherminds, what a wonderful doggy pack! 16? That’s an impressive age! And it’s good to hear that your 11 year olds are still happy running with you too. 😀
I agree, it feels odd if I don’t have Flossie with me. 🐾🐾
Happy Birthday lovely Flossie!🎂❤ If I tried running with mine he'd pull me off my feet & then enthusiastically drag me the rest of the way (he's a husky - lovely also, but mental).😀😀🐺
Thank you says Flossie! Hahaha I love the photo PC! I had to check to see whether his friend was real too! I can imagine how strong he is - what a gorgeous boy! 🥰
Perfect. My collie was like that until he had an fce stroke. Now he still has the enthusiasm but I can't take him far 😰 He absolutely loves a mini run though!
