Gosh I enjoyed that challenge more than I thought I would. Iβve never run a streak before, maybe one or two consecutive days here and there, but nothing more. πββοΈπββοΈ
I ran every morning on the common, doing my bit to not stray far from home (1 mile to be precise!) The weather up there was beautiful some days, absolutely horrific others, and the footing was everything from rock hard, frozen and rutted to soggy wet grass with standing water and very muddy trails. My trail shoes took a beating. I have 2 pairs and both got used and abused. But I ran. I didnβt give in even though there were some mornings when even my dog gave me the βweβre doing what?β look. πΎ I donβt think Iβd complain if it was never windy again! π¨π¨π¨
In summary I clocked up 156.6km with an elevation of 924 metres over 21hrs 19 mins.
My longest run was just over 12km and my shortest just over 2km, and everything in between. Legs feel 100%, and Iβm happy with that. Iβm sure my daily yoga helps too. (Finished Adrieneβs 30 dayer today too ππ»π§ββοΈ)
All in all I had a blast - and I intend to run tomorrow morning too! π³π

Thank you RAS! I only doubted myself a couple of times and that was when I seemed to be making zero forward progress in the sloppy mud. I never gave up however. π
You are a superstar cheeky! January certainly tested everyoneβs resolve this year, plus you did YWA everyday too. I hope you didnβt go for the triple dry January and really show us upπ€£π€£πββοΈβοΈπ«
Congratulations on running every day in January and becoming another member of the 100 Kilometers a month club, which there are a few on this forum, to run 156.6 K is excellent, so if you only run 100K in the remaining 11 months of 2021, those runs will be shorter, 8/10Ks and 4/5Ks a month makes up that 100K, once again congratulations on running every day in January. π ππΎ
I have an apology to give you, a sincere apology, I mean that I told everyone that Tinytears60 was the person on the Healthunlocked forums who had the most replies and congratulations on completing her graduation run at around 160, she is now second, I just noticed that you got 167 replies and congratulations on completing your first 10 miles run.
As you know, I like statistics, I have been keeping a record on the virtual and not parkruns for Damienair's Saturday morning runs, the top 5 replies and congratulations on Healthunlocked are:-
1 with 165 Cheekychipmunks - 10 miles
2 with 160 Tinytears60 - Graduation from C25K
3 with about 156 Buddy34 - First Half Marathon
4 with about 150 Dean - Marathon
5 with 146 AlMorr - 10 miles
If I am incorrect with anyone I have missed, apologies.
No apology needed AlMorr ! Youβre the forum guru - you know everything! I had no idea I had so many replies on that post. π
Iβm sure there should be some kind of badge recognising your stats knowledge - and also your PR/(not) PR commitment. Youβre the one we all look up to! βοΈ
Thanks, good luck with your HM training, once this cold weather ends I'll try and get back to running longer runs, more 10K's, at least another 10 miles and just maybe go for a HM.
Iβm sure youβll be successful in whatever distance you aim for Al! I did 13k this morning, getting this weekβs long run out of the way while the weather is behaving. πββοΈπββοΈ
Congratulations my lovely friend π₯³ππ»βοΈ Brilliant achievement. Fantastic collage too. It just says it all doesnβt it? It is amazing what we can achieve with sheer determination and the virtual encouragement of everybody on here and Strava!
Mine too - apart from a couple of walks with our grandson! I donβt even have the βjoyβ of the supermarket as Iβve been getting deliveries. (I have a sneaking suspicion itβs where I picked up the virus in November .... π)
Aww thanks IP. Some mornings I wondered what the heck I was doing, but once I got out and had run the first nasty bit of muddy hill, I was pleased I made the effort. It must be said, on those occasions I wished my route was flat and paved! π
Hi CC. Thatβs super-impressive! How did you manage that without getting injured? I know I would have done. Anyway, very well done. I hope youβll have a day off now...
Itβs because I donβt run fast enough Stephen! π
Touching wood frantically, the only running injury Iβve had is PF due to inappropriate trainers during C25K. Otherwise my legs and joints are fine. I also do lots of yoga. Iβm sure itβs my lack of desire to go fast which helps me though! π
Thanks so much Sandra! Neither had I, but I was confident Iβd be able to do it. If I can Iβm sure you could too. π I did underestimate the weather though! π¦π¦π¦π¦π¨π¨π¨π¨
Amazing achievement cheeky and beautifully photographed. Legs will be even stronger now and you will be even more fit. Great way to start the year.πππππ
Thanks BC. My legs have felt fine all through the month. Iβm so happy about that as even though I assumed they would be, under normal circumstances I wouldnβt be running on trails in this weather, let alone every day. Only a bonkers woman would do that ..... oh, wait ...... π³
I started last year and ran a few consecutive days but then got sick and ended up in hospital not connected but put paid to that, I worked a ling shift new yearβs day this year so never got started so well done to you
Aww thanks so much JR! Iβve been running since June 2018 and know that Iβm not prone to injury (touching wood!), so I felt confident enough to give this challenge a go. πββοΈπ
Iβm calling my ancient Nikes βrefuseniksβ. Like Keith Richard theyβre too tough to die. I did a trail session in them today. Theyβre road shoes but not bad on any surface
