It was January and I really did Run Every Day πŸ˜€πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Gosh I enjoyed that challenge more than I thought I would. I’ve never run a streak before, maybe one or two consecutive days here and there, but nothing more. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I ran every morning on the common, doing my bit to not stray far from home (1 mile to be precise!) The weather up there was beautiful some days, absolutely horrific others, and the footing was everything from rock hard, frozen and rutted to soggy wet grass with standing water and very muddy trails. My trail shoes took a beating. I have 2 pairs and both got used and abused. But I ran. I didn’t give in even though there were some mornings when even my dog gave me the β€œwe’re doing what?” look. 🐾 I don’t think I’d complain if it was never windy again! πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨

In summary I clocked up 156.6km with an elevation of 924 metres over 21hrs 19 mins.

My longest run was just over 12km and my shortest just over 2km, and everything in between. Legs feel 100%, and I’m happy with that. I’m sure my daily yoga helps too. (Finished Adriene’s 30 dayer today too πŸ™πŸ»πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ)

All in all I had a blast - and I intend to run tomorrow morning too! πŸ˜³πŸ˜…

Thank you RAS! I only doubted myself a couple of times and that was when I seemed to be making zero forward progress in the sloppy mud. I never gave up however. πŸ˜€

Congratulations on running every day in January and becoming another member of the 100 Kilometers a month club, which there are a few on this forum, to run 156.6 K is excellent, so if you only run 100K in the remaining 11 months of 2021, those runs will be shorter, 8/10Ks and 4/5Ks a month makes up that 100K, once again congratulations on running every day in January. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

Thanks Al! Yes I aim for 100km on a normal month, which is easy when working up to HM which I’m doing at the moment. πŸ˜€

I have an apology to give you, a sincere apology, I mean that I told everyone that Tinytears60 was the person on the Healthunlocked forums who had the most replies and congratulations on completing her graduation run at around 160, she is now second, I just noticed that you got 167 replies and congratulations on completing your first 10 miles run.

As you know, I like statistics, I have been keeping a record on the virtual and not parkruns for Damienair's Saturday morning runs, the top 5 replies and congratulations on Healthunlocked are:-

1 with 165 Cheekychipmunks - 10 miles

2 with 160 Tinytears60 - Graduation from C25K

3 with about 156 Buddy34 - First Half Marathon

4 with about 150 Dean - Marathon

5 with 146 AlMorr - 10 miles

If I am incorrect with anyone I have missed, apologies.

No apology needed AlMorr ! You’re the forum guru - you know everything! I had no idea I had so many replies on that post. πŸ˜€

I’m sure there should be some kind of badge recognising your stats knowledge - and also your PR/(not) PR commitment. You’re the one we all look up to! ⭐️

Thanks, good luck with your HM training, once this cold weather ends I'll try and get back to running longer runs, more 10K's, at least another 10 miles and just maybe go for a HM.

I’m sure you’ll be successful in whatever distance you aim for Al! I did 13k this morning, getting this week’s long run out of the way while the weather is behaving. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Mine too - apart from a couple of walks with our grandson! I don’t even have the β€œjoy” of the supermarket as I’ve been getting deliveries. (I have a sneaking suspicion it’s where I picked up the virus in November .... πŸ™„)

It’s because I don’t run fast enough Stephen! πŸ˜…

Touching wood frantically, the only running injury I’ve had is PF due to inappropriate trainers during C25K. Otherwise my legs and joints are fine. I also do lots of yoga. I’m sure it’s my lack of desire to go fast which helps me though! πŸ˜…
