π₯π₯BOOM!!! We're on fire!!! 2020 kilometres β 2020 miles β We did it!!! π₯π₯
So convincingly have we met our targets, that I reckon we could double our 2020 km target - really, we CAN!!!
βββ At time of writing this post we have a brilliant 3712 km (that's 2306 miles) in the pot!
We have another two days before the end of the year, before we say a final good riddance to 2020!
β Do keep your 2020 pictures coming
β Let's get ready for a final day relay on 31st
- can 31st be our highest daily total?
- can we make 31st a day full of 2020 runs and walks (20.20km, 20.20 miles, 2.02 miles?): an individual 2020 or find one or more VRBs and record a 2020 distance between you.
2020 is almost done!!! We are chasing it off in stunning style - a fabulous team effort π
Keep logging your distances below - let's get our next 2020 in the pot π
Edit: even better (as suggested by Richard7 ), let's make our new goal 4084.4km - that's 2.020 x 2020!!!). We have two whole days - Let's do this!!!
I didn't see any fit young ladies today. Such is the demographic of bungalow city. Though I saw some sleek mobility scooters which would please the petrol heads out there!
Just back, itβs too icy out there still and I couldnβt break into a run at any point. Our country roads arenβt gritted. I did 1.5K but it took me 20 minutes π not worth the risk. Iβm so disappointed as I was all ready to do my big one today βΉοΈ I even abstained from alcohol the last two nights - what a waste that was π
Does anyone know how long Tailwind lasts after youβve made it up?
Ahh no! But as you say best to be safe, and there's always tomorrow. Not sure on Tailwind - I know the SIS Hydro tabs say they are good for 24 hours (although I've never tried it) π
How do I go about adding my miles to your collection? I was stuck self isolating over Christmas, a last minute Christmas present from my boss π but managed 7miles on Monday and another 5miles yesterday.
That's exactly how you do it! There's a post each day where you can comment. I'm recording in kms so will put you down for 11.27 and 8.05 km (cos every bit helps!).That wasn't very kind of your boss, but hope he/she's ok!
I have recorded 7.68 for yourself and Boss Jr for yesterday. I have a separate entry going for Boss (3+1) which I am holding in reserve in case of emergency π. So where does the 31.52 sit? is it for everyone or is this the (3+1) also doing the 7.68? walk or something else perhaps?
Well my coldest run to date but still in shorts, part of route was treacherous so ran through long dead grass, other parts were clear - yay. However that's my final 10.1km run for 2020. (I've clocked an amazing 1380km this year having started c25k in August 2019). I'll have more walking kms to post by the year end, too nice to stay indoors. Happy running everyone π€
Hi everyone, I ran another 7km this morning by the seasideπββοΈ A dog walker walked out in front of me with his dog on an extendable lead across the promenade, so a bit of hurdling practice was involved too!π‘
Hi Linda, just a 6.07k dog walk to add from me today. πΎπ
Iβll get out tomorrow and do something, but probably no more than a 5.05k run and a 5.05k dog walk - so if anyone wants to buddy up with me to make up 20.20k that would be great! π
I'll buddy up with you cheekychipmunks . I will try a short run if my hip is OK, and I can go for a walk to make up the difference. We will be packing up for my youngest to leave home on New Year's day so I will be in need of diversion. I've asked him - if I can't cope, will he come back. I didn't get the answer I was hoping for π₯
Ahh thanks linda9389 that would be great! So 10.10k each, walking/running? π
Kids have a way with words donβt they? Iβm sure they mean well (I hope they do anyway!) But I guess itβs all part of them being independent. I give my daughter βhelpfulβ baby advice - I did have 3 so I know a bit about them. Itβs like Iβm speaking in a foreign language judging by her expression some of the time! π€£
wow, & great idea, keeping the foot on the accelerator.... I was all ready to call it a day for the year and start baking again ( well I still might do some baking π ... ) so itβs a 5.62k walk from me this morning and Iβll get out tomorrow to run out the old year π
just shows how valuable this community is in supporting us all, keeping the motivation going and as we are seeing everywhere at the moment we are so much stronger when we work together as a team, big thanks to you & the admin team π
Settled for 3.66k on the beach with Molly, which I think takes me to 20:20 overall. Bright sunshine and no wind made for nice walking conditions; I suspect that my usual trails will be very soggy!
I feel like a fraud following Hidden s contribution, but it's a 6.17km run from me today. That takes me over the 20.20km mark for the period of the challenge and a total of 56.79km for December, or just over 35 miles. I had challenged myself to do a total of 25 miles, so this group challenge had definitely encouraged me to get out and do a bit more. Thanks for organising!
Hello linda9389 , just 2.53k from a dog walk in the forest to add today, 30th December. I've already deleted it from Strava though as it was messing up my HUHM stats!
Hi Linda please add 8.22 each for me and Boss Jr for today and a total of 24.58km for Boss family. Me and Boss Jr are going to try and do a 10.1k +10.1k tomorrow to finish off the year.
Yea, it's been an interesting year. Some great leaps, a few setbacks but I think I have a handle on things. Tbh... they could do with a rest but its just one more π€π»π
Plans for a run and long dog walk were interrupted by ice. So it's just short 2.05km slippy walk for me today. Tomorrow likely to be the same unfortunately. Better safe than sorry! π£
I clocked up 2.4 miles yesterday. I did my benchmark run for my Garmin HM training program and then a bit more once I had recovered! Santa gave me a Garmin for Christmas and I am loving it - takes all the thought out of pace and timing.
5.21k today and many steps up the Leigh on Sea coast. I had planned 2020 steps but to be honest i lost count quickly and it was too hard ha ha - I only climbed them twice and called it a day to continue on my run π€¦π»ββοΈπ
Hi Linda, todayβs (30th) mileage for you, a 7km walk and an 8km run, which was also a PB at 48 mins !! Quite surprised given I spent half the time dodging frozen puddles !!
Hope it is not too late to add my final contribution for 2020: a 5.05km dog walk yesterday (30th) and a short run 6.97km today. Happy New Year everyone!
