We watched Elf last night (with our grown up kids) to boost our Christmas spirit ππ
But, back to business ... if this is the first you've heard of this challenge, see the link to the first post healthunlocked.com/marathon... - it's not too late to join in!
So that's three days of the ten completed!!!
At time of writing this post we had a brilliant 742 km in the pot; still on track for the kilometre challenge, despite a slightly quieter third day. We are lagging behind for the 2020 miles, but you never know, if people have enough time off work ... and have enough food to run/walk off ... we may still make it!!!
There were a few more 2020's yesterday - some more strava art, this time from Birdlady64 ; 2 x 10.10 to give a 20.20km total from Over62 and a great '2020 - my year' photo from dijep . Biggest distance contributions were 20.20km from Decker and 16k from roseabi - GO Marathon team!!!π I'm happy to say I had an uneventful short walk - I didn't collect any 2020's or any great distance, but I didn't upset anyone either!
Well done to everyone who got out there in the mud and the rain - you're all superstars!!!
I imagine life may be busy for most of us over the next few days. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and still manage to find some time to walk and run if that's what you want to do!
I'll continue to update the totals, so do post and comment below, letting us know how far you have run or walked today (Thursday 24th).
I was overjoyed to see the sunshine this morning so logged a happy hilly 7k run and a 1k cooldown walk, so please add 8k as my total please Linda. π
Now to go home to do last minute bits and pieces before the festivities commence. π Theyβll be different, but theyβll be fun. π I hope all my ARBs and VRBs have the best Christmas possible. π₯°
Fabulous - you were early and first on the board today! I've just put away all the Christmas food and am charging the watch for a chilly but hopefully sunny ride (I love my new garmin but the maps sure eat up the battery π±). Hope you have a lovely Christmas too π
Tuesday and today will be a walk.....but Iβm trying to get 4 runs in this week π€, there will definitely be one tomorrow.....in appropriate attire of course......π€Άπ»πββοΈπ....
Apologies Iβm late to this too! 3.74 km today in my elf running top! I collected a kitchen bin bag of litter too on my run - got to keep the environment βelfyβ too (groan!).
Sounds like you fell out of a cracker this morning π but what an amazing start to the day! Not too late, that's the main thing. I'll add you to the board now!
After promising a bit more yesterday and then succumbing to the couch rather than the torrent of rain, this morning is a lot nicer. So with a final, final trip to the shops and extended walk back another 4.25k from me. Happy Christmas Eve all.
Lovely, thanks for those. Happy to take just one total for the day - I'm not splitting out runs and walks (unless of course one of them is a '2020' ) π
10K run from me. I had planned to do the 20.20 run today but I didnβt think that was wise given my niggly knee the last time out. Anyway, all was good so Iβll get the big run done next week π The roads were still waterlogged so I had just to go for it and run through the middle like a five year-old π¦ πββοΈβΊοΈ Great fun..... weeeeeeee
Hi, only just catching up with this!I ran 7km on Tuesday 22nd and 10km today (24th). No 2020 theme - sorry, will have a think about that for my next run!
A quick 6km today. More interested in mulled wine and mince pies with friends in the garden before we get locked down again on boxing day. Merry Christmas ππ
Enjoy your last days of freedom...our tier 4 suddenly got brought forward from the 28th to last Saturday so my plans were scuppered, that said I'm still pretty interested in mulled wine and mince pies π·π₯§. I figure we deserve extras for running in this rain and cold π
That's my next job once I've got all these numbers in - everyone was very busy while I was out on my bike! Here's to deliciousness and a lovely Christmas π
Hello and Merry Christmas to all ! A happy 6km from me today - no Xmas theme but I did decorate the cake before I went out !! Actually I was running with Rachmaninov - piano concerto, (the theme tune fromBrief encounter) - not quite a Christmas film - close ?? π₯³ππΎ
Merry Christmas everyone. A 2.87k walk in Clumber Park for me with my stepdaughter, son-in-law and granddaughters in lieu of our usual get together and day of madness on Boxing Day. Thankfully, the sun was shining and there were lots of muddy puddles for the girls to jump in. We then had a blizzard on the way home but the sun came out again so I set off for a 4.040km run. Sadly, miscalculated by about 5 seconds and ended up with 4.06km. 6.93k to add to the total anyway π
Not a 2k 20m dog walk then? missed a trick there π One of my boys (22) refused - said he'd been made to watch it too many times in his life already - but it was actually my other son's (20) idea. His favourite film? mmm, maybe not π Have a lovely Christmas π
Oh i did miss a trick there. Thereβs still the evening walk! My daughter is 13 and can recite most of the bits by now. My 16yr old son is not interested in the least π Hope you have a lovely Christmas as well!
No Kmβs for you as hubby and I have classified today as a rest day, too many runs and walks this month. I just wanted to say that after a year of pouring over charts and stats about COVID it is so uplifting to look at the trends rising on your charts and be able to rejoice about it. Thank you π₯°
Hello just had a lovely walk of 6.31k! To add to the totals , more importantly a catch up with my daughter, exchange of Christmas presents and an open air picnic. The weather was kind with some lovely sunshine definitely the best that it could be πππ π§ΊπΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈ
16.24 km from me today for the log book. Nature was not cooperating again (not a good week for me, maybe too many mince pies π€) but I had a pit stop and carried on!
4.91 km walking. Gosh it's chilly today! I may have had a cup of coffee with me for the last walking session, and it may have had a little brandy in it...
It was very chilly for my toes on the bike today - despite all the layers I could muster! I like the sound of your festive coffee! Have a lovely, lovely Christmas π
Hi Linda, A crisp cold but dry day and me and Boss Jr went on another long walk both of us clocking up 8.5km. This challenge has got both of us enjoying the great outdoors.
3.62K for me today, had to abandon my Strava art when the mud on the route Iβd plotted started flowing over the top and into my shoes π will attempt it again in a few days as a walk with my wellies on!
Was my first run in my new trail shoes! Definitely felt less like I was going to land on my bum at any second, but they certainly donβt look new any more!
Brilliant! I haven't had a chance to look at Strava today. If you have time you could put a post up in this forum and show everyone your '2020' s. Have a lovely Christmas π
I got a 8.5 km run in today to contribute. I will hopefully get a short run in tomorrow as well before going away for a few days snowmobiling where all my km will be motorized π
