This is day 7 of 10 and we are very close to our 2020 km goal already !!!
If this is the first you've heard of this challenge, see the link to the first post healthunlocked.com/marathon... - it's not too late to join in and to add any distance you've run or walked since Monday 21st!
At time of writing this post we have an awesomeβ1777 kmβ in the pot (that's a lot of lucky 7's). We may well hit our kilometre target three days early!!! We're absolutely showing 2020 who's boss!!!
2020 miles? Can we do this? We're over half way, but at our current rate it will be hard to reach. Do you have any good VRB friends who're missing out on this challenge? maybe they think Marathon forum is a scary place to be? or that they are not worthy of joining? Let them know how welcoming and inclusive we are, encourage them over, let them know their runs and walks could be the ones that make the difference!!! If you're reading this but hesitating to post - don't be shy, we need you π
I'll say it again - never say never, I believe in you!!!
Post and comment below when you get chance, letting us know how far you have run or walked today (Sunday 27th) plus anything from earlier in the week that hasn't been logged yet.
Of course the chart is immediately out of date as I post! A whopping 42.2k from C3PO 's marathon and a lovely 20.20km from Charlies1 take us even closer to our targets. Keep 'em coming runny folks!!!
Just ran a speedy 6k - 34mins - well that's speedy for me as I was with my husband who pushes me well past my comfortable pace π€ͺ Really huffing and puffing now but at least I feel like I've run off some of that Christmas food and booze!!!
A bit shy π here, as I normally just hover silently in the marathon race forum (still working on my 10k over at the bridge) but only this morning realised (and really read the whole) guidelines including the community challenge of meeting 2020 km or/and miles! π€¦π½ββοΈ
So would you accept me on the community challenge belatedly?
Here are some (shorter)distances I piled up over the holidays so far:
Morning linda9389 , 12.18k (yes, I like posting absurdly precise figures...) from me today, Sunday 27th. A proper run, too, not just one of my crazy Christmas jogs!
I can contribute 9.11k today Linda. A lovely 7.22k run in the crisp sunshine, followed by a brisk 1.89k cool down walk. Itβs perfect running weather here today after Storm Bella blew through. Good riddance to her too as well as 2020!
Hi Linda and VRBs! I ran another 7K this morningπββοΈ once Storm Bella had done her worst - brought down the fence and caused water leaks through the roof and in the conservatoryπͺβοΈπ³
I incorporatedβRhythm and Rollβ intervals from the NRC app into the middle of the run. Itβs a great session, particularly when youβve finished it! π€£
Hi Linda, goodness these runs from everyone are really impressive. I skated round another 10.13 today, glorious blue skies but goodness it was icy and a cold wind.
Hi Linda, A 7.5km run this morning to add to the total for me. Boss Jr celebrating his 9th birthday todayπππ added 4k run to his total as well.
Nothing from me here today. I just received a message on the Test and Trace app that I have to self-isolate for 3 days βΉοΈ But still time to do my 20.20 run π
Oh no IP! At least three days isn't too long compared to the full isolation period. Have everything crossed for you π€. Time for some squats perhaps? 20 today, 20 tomorrow?
Sorry I haven't been on the ball today. A first play of the Pandemic board game blew several fuses in my brain, then I've had to get smart(er) with the spreadsheet as we went beyond 100% of the kilometre target ππ. Playing catch up with the posts now and hopefully there is still integrity in the charts (despite some very inelegant behind-the-scenes calculations π )
Wow, didnβt we all do well, itβs 18.9k from me and Mr J today, beautiful long walk in the calm after the storm with wall to wall sunshine π
Just a 4k walk up and down Butser Hill today Linda, but as it was a full bubble effort you can also count 4k from Dexy5 and Oldgirlruns , so 12k in the pot altogether. Not counting the walk towards my personal 20.20 target, though, so there's at least another 5.05k to come from me at some point.
Hello Linda 9389, well itβs been a lovely bright but cold day today and I managed to get a brisk 3.30k walk in before breakfast and then a good long late morning 10.61K followed by a brisk 3.48 k late afternoon so that makes 17.39 k for the challenge.
That's more true than you can imagine. today I was wondering if - if necessary - I could persuade the marathon team to spend New Year's eve night walking and running π
8km walk for me today - and if itβs not cheating then double that, cos I was with my other half (him indoors). Had actually meant to run today but other half was dejected and asked for a walk together instead !(he doesnβt run). How could I refuse !! At least itβs extra miles for my Pennine way. π and of course a very nice walk.
Wowsers! That's absolutely phenomenal, what an achievement!!!I can't log all those miles, but if you want to let me have your kilometre distances from 21st Dec to now I can add those π
I persevered for about 7K on my planned route, until I met a walker turning back from a flood which he said had gone over the top of his wellies and was still getting deeper! Had to get hubby to pick me up 3 miles from home as I ended up nowhere near after completing my planned distance after the diversion, with no water or anything π
That's funny π (but essentially we are trying to run 2020 miles in the last ten days of the year) . There's a new post each day to record your daily distances. I'll pop your total so far in tho - a very nice boost to the pot!
My first run for two weeks as havenβt been feeling well so only a measly 4.87k Brilliant running from everyone else πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπππ
After my Xmas day debacle, I tried a 20 minute walk this morning. Feeling fine, I then went out at sunset for a 20 minute run.Total distance today: 5.21km π
The sun was out in Whitstable today, so I wove my way through the seafront throngs just shy of 8km.In addition, I ran 4.2km on Dec 24 and 5.6km on Dec 21.
Hi Linda, I did a 7.29km run in the morning and added an 8.88km walk with the family this afternoon. Boss Jr also did an 8.88km walk. Also just wondering if you would like to add another 95.87km to the total which is an accumulation of the km my other 3 children and husband have accumulated in the last 4 days accompanying me on my walks. You could put them down as Boss family π
