First off, I signed up to run the quarter ultra challenge next year in May to raise money for SANE the mental health charity. This is new and exciting abd a cause close to my heart and also the day I started to google "pain below knee, top of shin"...my bad.
So, I got a bit over excited when I progressed from 5K to 10K and did not allow for the adjustment period...instead of doing a couple months of 5/5/10, I was doing 5/8-10/12, happily flying down Parkland Walk and Highgate Woods. I say flying, I decidedly was not, I jog...point being, I ran 16K/10M beginning of this month and despite leaving ample time, resting and eating between runs now, I feel like my body is rebelling somewhat...
I should spend the next 6 weeks running that 5/5/10 shouldn't I? I'm aware of the fact that I will have to start training for that 25K eventually and I better do it properly...
On the bright side though, I love a trail run and I've never been to the Isle of Wight, so I won't get bored even if I'm tired.
Hope eveyone's enjoying this chilly Thursday.
Also, what is it about runners and the community that makes everyone so lovely? Got to be the most supportive corner of the internet I've ever come across...
