Firstly, thanks to all those involved for all the organisation and inspirational race posts. My running has been taking a back seat for the last couple of weeks and it was really FOMO that got me out of the door!!

I originally planned to run on Sunday. Got up at 6 for some cereal and then decided the body was not "feeling it" and went out for a lovely walk/carry with little old dog instead.

So... Monday morning came.

I set off with my jelly beans and comedy podcasts plodding along. It felt tough .It was very warm and my legs were heavy heavy heavy. Things didn't really improve but bizarrely I still really enjoyed the battle. Realising that it was going to be tough anyway I climbed a few stiles and ran/walked some previously unexplored and definitely underused footpaths.

I returned home with very achy feet-not sure why- itchy fingers and legs from the long grass and a big smile on my face.

No way would I have done 10 miles without the HU10 event. Thanks again !!!

You're a superstar! To run 10 miles when you're not really feeling it, when the legs are heavy and the temperatures are high, takes a lot of determination (you call it FOMO, but it's pure determination really 🥰). Congratulations on a great run 👏👏👏

Well done 👍

Is it just me, or does 10 miles plus leave everyone feeling ravenous? Maybe I should think about Jelly Beans!! Whatever; so glad you got out there for your 10 miler Week7; great that you enjoyed it. I have spent a chunk of yesterday and today de-knotting tight muscles and easing off complaining joints. Worth it though……🙂

Oh yes-mini Jelly beans provide me with a little boost. The lunch out with a friend after helped too! I hope your muscles are easing now.

Thanks Week7. My swim today should help, provided our coach doesn’t have the equivalent of a sub 60 minute 10k in mind. Stretches after swimming seem to be good though. Jelly beans and swimming won’t work sadly 🙂

What a lot going on there and you did it! 👏🏃🏻‍♀️ I wonder which comedy podcasts you enjoy? Legs were heavy heavy heavy oh dear! I wonder why that was. Really enjoyed the battle - well done to you! Previously unexplored always something I enjoy and then a big smile! This sounds like lots of ticks on a runner's bingo card! Congratulations to you 🎉👏🏁🏅🏃🏻‍♀️

Thanks. I usually listen to a variety from the comedy selection on BBC SOUNDS such as episodes of "Sorry I haven't a Clue" , "No such thing as a Fish " and "You're DeadToMe" Basically anything that makes me chuckle as I plod!

I shall have to see if they give me a chuckle. Plodding with chuckles sounds good to me. 😊

Well done for your 10 miles! That is a long way to run when you’re not feeling it, but you still did it. 👏👏👏👍

Thanks. I set off telling myself that I was going to cover 10 miles walk or run or any combination of the 2 - much nicer than doing all the cleaning which I should do on my non work day!
